Spank got bars! and its a hood name not a rap name theres homies in the hood that got kinda off beat names(got a homie whos aka is Lumpy) but thats what they got branded in,in their set!
Is that the same Lumpy who goes by DJ 54 East? If so, is he still doin the music thing? But you on point with that, you can pick a rap name for yourself but you can't pick a hood name. That's given to u, it has to be earned!

I feel what you sayin but at the same time Lil Spank Booty isn't a name that he came up with there is a Big Spank Booty in Emerald Hills which is where his name comes from. It's a name that's been a big part of his life since he was 13. So your logic don't really apply here bro cuz we all know Spank is one of the realest dudes to ever touch a microphone and i'm sure the majority of people who've listened to him would agree that he can actually rap on top of that. So if people took the time out to actually listen to him whether it be on a music tip or just one of his interviews they'd see that too but they're so caught up on his name that they make assumptions and ignorant comments as soon as they see it without givin him a chance. That's my take on it at least. I respect everyone's opinions either way but like I've been sayin at least listen first.

oh, nah..trust me it still applies...lil spank booty is still a hilarious name...no matter who or why he has the name.... and if you rock a name you know niggas are gonna make jokes on, then thats part of the game. it can go both ways too, a name that is out of thew ordinary can get people talking and breed you more listeners in the process, or it could turn people off. just because a name is hilarious dosent kick you out of the running of being listened to, can be on both sides of the coin bro. the only reason im not tripping is because im born and raised in SD and i understand how hood niggas names go, but if i was an out of towner? honestly i probably wouldnt give him a shot based on the name and thats just being real.

as an out of towner, someone would literally have to be like 'nah dont trip off his name, he ill' or i probably would judge names. thats just the reality of my individualism, theres no right s or wrongs in ones opinion on how he attacks listening to music or stereotypes one before listening. you feel? its the same way lil b goes about getting listeners, he names an album "im gay' and it gets people talking. titty boi didnt blow up until he was named 2 chainz. get what i mean? two different spectrums in which your name can hinder or hurt you. old dirty bastard/big baby jesus got a pass. some niggas got stupid names that are dope. theres alot of ways to attack that shit.

to me everything shouldnt be so black and white. like you shouldnt really worry about a joke on your name. before the word 'gas' wasnt cool i got the 'whyd you name yourself after a fart?' comments and they never bothered me..im sure lil spank booty is confident in himself as a man enough where he wouldnt suplex someone laughing at the name. it aint that serious you get it or you dont. you become an artist you grow thick skin. some people are gonna get it some people aint..but theres no use preaching. thats part of art. whomever likes it, likes it.

sorry it took so long to reply but sometimes i think things should logically be understood. i never said i dont think hes dope, but yeah, ill judge a nigga by his name. thats just how it go sometimes. i know alot of people who wont listen to people like action bronson or nacho picasso because of their names....no biggie....theyll either check it out on their own accord or dont..music is best enjoyed organically like that..if you gravitate towards it then thats how it goes...ya know?

for every rule theres exceptions...atleast in most cases

super off topic...but 'cool' to a persons spiritual beliefs..i find that a little less interesting than a persons name and how they got it...spirituality is left up to the individual piloting the plane of his or her life...we all got our own

Im not about to judge no person by a name. Let me hear you spit first and see what you talkin about and then I will pass judgement. You can be called Lil Tweety Bird Loc for all I care, If Lil Tweet got bars then Lil Tweet got bars. You can have a tight name and be weak as fuck, it happens all the time. To me a name is just that, and nothing more.

Anybody laughin or "judging" someone by their name is on some ignorant shit and their whole character as a human being comes in to play. That's just me though, I know we are all different.

First off i appreciate you havin an actual conversation about it rather than gettin all heated at my response but yea i see where you comin from and you do have a point, a good one at that, i'll admit it but i'm still with Ducefaced on this topic i think people should give artists a proper listen before they get to makin fun of a rapper's name and dismissing their music but like you said to each his own i respect everybody's opinions. and at what you said about him not caring if people make fun of his name yea he doesn't mind lol. i'm about to post the interview of him talkin about his name right now to clear everything up for the people who aren't familiar with him
