smart bay artists embrace lil b for what he represents because they understand the mechanics of what he's doing. he's taking the maney mob music shit he was exposed to and merging it w/the berkeley bugged out hippy shit he was exposed to and reinterpreting it to package it in a way that is unequivocally bay area and what today's rap audiences, today's indie audiences and everyone in between can get on board w/.

it may not be 100% through and through the bay area everyone on siccness is used to, but it's bay none-the-less. the bay is bigger than gangster rap and b takin pieces from here, pieces from there and mixing it together based on whatever the fuck he feels like. i respect that.

lol at some people on here mad at this lil nigga for making it before them. dont be mad just step your shit up and go a different route. he started from the bottom just like any other inspiring rapper or producer in the bay.

I give him props and gotta say one thing this nigga did exactly what he said he was gonna do i remember last year seeing one his videos and he was like im the rawest rapper alive and ill be in the 2011 freshmen class next year just watch. one more thing he isnt dumb as yall think bc to be successful on that mainstream level you gotta be a business man first.

Great for him however, if thats the kind of music the youngins are listening to then I feel very sorry for them.....
Im sorry to say thsi is in fact what the younsters is into street one or suburb ones. my lil cousins 16 & 17 yrs old likes this niggas music they wear the skinny jeans with big azz jordan shoes and have the neck and body tatts with baby dreads. this is the style of this generation now we just getting old and some being grumpy old men.

good for him... i know i might disagree with his supporters but he aint taking money out my pocket so . props...
he not getting no money from me either unless his album has better material then wat he has dropped. ill download a mixtape now and then bc he entertaining i liked most that red flame mixtape but didnt like angel exodus or that evil edition red flame.

the crazy part of the whole situation is that ultimately the bay area not fucking w/lil b probably helped him cause he didn't get caught up doing bullshit local mixtapes nobody's ever going to hear and thinking he's "making moves." that type of complacency can be dangerous to a career.

That was probably the best thing that could have happened. I mean really, look around and tell me who is really making power moves in 2011, musically (Bay Area artists)? People are so concerned with being "in" with supposed "industry insiders," that they follow the steps of those remaining stagnet, hence, more stagnetism (yeah, that is my word),lol. Lil B solidifies my belief that you need to have a network, yes, but not the same network all of these guys claim is needed to make it. People will hate you and love you no matter you are, the minute you are successful the haters become more prevalent. I wouldn't let my son wear skinny jeans or listen to his music. That is my choice, but whose to say I am right and Lil B is wrong? That is up to the fans, and quite frankly, they support him. I can't knock that.

Now let me get back to drafting this settlement agreement. Any of you artists need some contracts drafted let me know. It is not free but having your paperwork right is mandatory to take it to the next level. I bet Lil B has his paperwork right.lol

lil b is not bad for the bay like most migt have thought before. he not good for they bay either. he's good for lil b and thats it...

bottomline if your good your good. they dont care were u come from. they care about the quality your product or your potential to make money for them... its business.. i dont beleive they will play up the fact he's from the bay in advertisment and shit like that. maybe on 106 and park theyll say from berkley/baya area next video is lil b.. blah blah.... but it dont really matter where u from or whos from there .... isnt that kid whiz khalifa from pittsburgh????? who really cares about Pittsburgh?

so if you from the bay and think lil b is hurting your sales and the way others look at you . you got it all wrong....

no one says the finest women come only from iowa and all the ugly bitches come from south dakota... they come from every city on the map...same with music know what i mean.??

He stuck to his formula, he's out there....

He built his own fan base tho and it's all over the states...

Kids in Dallas TX were listening to him ... so he's doing something most of these bay area artist ain't doing....that's getting his name and music out there.

I think Roach Gigz or Moe Green deserve a spot on that list.
Though both are talented contenders for the Bay Area, and have proven so by both being listed as KMEL's Freshman, they haven't built a buzz on a national scale like Lil B has; that's what it ends up boiling down to.

Either way the XXL Freshman is never promising in my opinion. 95% of the time you never hear much about the cover artists afterwards.
