Tight CD. You guys rhymed about a lot of different topics and kept the music changing--no one beat/musical background sounds like the last one. Kee's his usual dope self, Dap surprised me with his flows, and Dutch seems to have improved--his rhymes are better to me than before...
Hard to pick favorites, but I'll say "The Anthem" (infectious chorus), "Behind The Music" (love the way ya'll go back-and-forth on the verses), "Pop Your Pistol" (just an adreneline rush), "The Meaning" (anyone who can stay creative when every other word in the verses is FUCK is all right in my book--LMFAO!), "Either Way It Goes" (the flute on there sounds like some old Blackbyrds or Kool and the Gang "Spirit Of The Boogie"-era shit), "Non-Fiction" (sounds like a freestyle), "Still Stressin'" (deep and sad) and...well, basically all three solo tracks are cool, too. Dutch's "If You Were Me" was probably the one I felt most, but Dap's "Take Me Back" was cool, and Mr. Kee's "Liquor Store Run" was hilarious! LMFAO!
Nothing's wack, really--the only small criticism I have is that the drums and/or percussion on "Plead My Case" sounded a little light to my ears--somehow, it dilutes the impact of the track a bit. But that's just my opinion.
WHAT WE DO is one of the best damn Bay CDs I've heard this year. What's next on your agenda (solo, collabs, etc.)?
PEACE!
