Is starting a couple hours late pretty standard practice for rap concerts?

Just wanna know so I don't show up way early for Tech's next show like I did last time.
The show didnt start late.....being around many shows, tech and non-tech, you will notice that the actual time the show starts isn't really determined until that night.

So many variables come into play, people are late for soundcheck, some people dont show up when they are supposed to, promoters hold the acts til more people come, a lot of shit can happen.

The setlist i recieved last night said the show would start at around 9pm.....and it did.

I didnt get home til after 4am.....you don't see me making impossible demands like "if the ticket says the show is gonna start at 8 then it should"

Admittedly, I don't go to a lot of concerts. But, I don't recall ever waiting for a show to start as long as I did at Tech's in Tempe. Just wondering if that night was a rare occurrence or what.

I don't really think it's unreasonable to want things to start at the time advertised.

When I attend a live event I don't get my panties in a knot if it doesn't start at the advertised time "on the dot". But, I do generally expect it to start w/in an hour or so of that time. I really don't think that's all that unreasonable.

anyways.......enough with the bullshit....

People i saw: DrDrew, Slide, Trick420, DonJuanBellygusa, TheVille31, dean!allmighty!, John Z, and if i forgot you write your name in here _________.

People who said they would be there and I didnt see: JLMACN & JLaw

Jose I can deal with, cause this is like the 4th show in a row that I've heard him say he'll be there and didnt show......but i seriously thought you would come through JLaw. I was dissapointed by both no shows, but i'll move on with my life.

I'm not trying to start bullshit, I'm jus' tryin' ta figure out what to usually expect. If a 10pm start for a show listed as 8pm on the ticket is pretty standard, that's cool. I don't give a shit, I just wanna know when to show up. I'd rather spend 8-9:30 sitting in my favorite local pub having drinks than standing around in a auditorium staring at an empty stage.

ummm... in all seriousness... whenever i go to a show and the "doors open at 8:00" {and if i am not mistaken... thats the way it always is for shows at the granada... and anyone who was upset...all they had to do was call ahead of time to check out when they should get there}...anyway... i always expect the show to start about 2 hours from then and more than likely it does start around 10... i have been to "a few" tech n9ne shows now and i dont know what everyone thinks... but the show last night went pretty damn smooth and got me fuckin hype as hell... ... the sets were tight... the intervals between weren't over long... they ran that show well... ... i hadnt seen tech and them perform since last january at the granada and you can tell that they are running the show as if they got it down to a science ... Nick and Steve were runnin the merchandise well ... wish i could have been a little more helpful than i actually was but you guys looked like ya had it covered.... it was a great night... nuff said...
