I've been listening to the CD for about 45 days. It sounds better today than the day I got it. This is a classic album, unchartered territory. It has everything at a high level.
This review is off the top of my head. I might forget a few tracks.
Genius: Off the hook. His mom sings on this cut.
Back Pack: is a radio cut for urban stations. not my particular cup of tea, too simple but urban stations love this kind of stuff.
Doe Doe: this is my kind of urban rap/dance song. E-40 absolutely tears it up on this cut. Krizz does what he does.
Get Off: outstanding. groundbreaking. no rapper has ever done what tech n9ne does on this song. never been done. incredible. kaliko took tech to a new level. this is a great r&b ballad.
Butt Naked Fun: krizz demonstrating the versatility that no other rapper has. sounds like something jamie foxx would do.
Get My Life Right: can you say Tupac Shakur? square bizness. this is the kind of music tupac used to make. skatter and snug should've stayed with strange just to see how far this song goes. at this point in the album, i'm sitting here with my mouth wide open wondering where else krizz could go.
Dead Wrong: liked it when i first heard it. love it now.
Misunderstood: krizz goes gnarls barkley on em.
Bipolar: no this fool didn't? oh, yes he did. fat mofo just went Prince on em. nobody has ever done this in hip hop, ya'll. nobody. Outkast didn't do this... Krizz just went Prince on 'em.
So High: kutt calhoun is so talented.
The Chemical: now he done went rock and roll, Nine Inch Nails.
Be Right Back: big scoob is now in the building and this joint just got real ghetto and gutter. played this at my barbershop and had to mace people just so i could get out of there without a fight. by the time tech closes this out, you ready to stomp on anybody who looks at you funny.
Hum Drum: now he's taking us to a beach in jamaica. c'mon, man... has a hip hop album ever taken us so many places? now we blazing one with bob marley.
Happy Birthday: you gotta listen to the whole thing. the last minute is absolutely hilarious and makes this The Birthday song.
Choir Boy: now this sloppy mofo is gonna take us to church. ain't that a biscuit!
Any objective review of this CD would have to classify it as one of the 20 best hip hop albums of all time. We've never really been here before so most people won't know what to think. It's just damn good music with very little cussing. I don't think Krizz ever cusses.
I would call Tech and Krizz the new Outkast... but Outkast never did it like this.
