when shit leaks, it ruins the album, so i aint gonna download the leak. but i know its gonna be good, so why ruin it? my opinion
I agree. I might be contradicting myself by saying this but I like when 1 song leaks at most, maybe one besides the first single. It gives you a preview of what you can expect in most cases. When the whole album leaks it certainly ruins it. Not only for the artist but for your anticipation for the album as well. I've bought all of Techs releases on the first day since I started listening to him, the same with SS and Krizz. I can wait for the actual release and listen to other artists or tracks from them in the meantime.

I still fail to understand the whole "leaks ruin albums" argument. In situations like Everready, where five or six songs were floating around the internet for a good year or two prior to release, I can kind of understand how that could ruin the listening experience.

However, what's the difference between running to the store and buying a release the first day to pop it in and listening to it from front to back and downloading the leak the moment it turns up and listening to it from front to back?

You're hearing the same thing, in the same order, all at the same time in both scenarios... so what makes these two that different to the point that it ruins the album?

EDIT: Wireless net drops out trying to post then, get it back up and post only to see Zero hit the nail right on the head. Haha.

Meh... In the end people all only listen to the "good" songs anyhow. Do people even really use cd's anymore?

I rarely do. I buy some of them, but then just up them to the comp and use the digital files after that.

exactly. i download a cd, listen to it, and if i like it, i buy it to support the artist. the cd then sits in my cd rack while i play the song off my zune. i might use the cd once to re-rip it to my comp if the original one i had was in a shitty quality or there were changes in the final release, but that is it.

Agreed.

It did ruin Everready for me because I had already heard JellySickle, MYMBMG, Come Gangsta, Ya'll cant fuck with us and I think 1 more mooonths before shit dropped. So that did ruine it.

But like Kain said, if I get the entire album and listen to it front to back and its good, ill go cop it. NO difference in waiting til I get the physical cd in my hands.

Actually I always try and make sure I get the leaked tracks before the cd drops cuz sometimes tho tracks dont make the cd and I love em. For instance Exclusive, Whip It, Mirror Mirror, Sleeping Beauty, Dip In Tha Whip, Turn.... All great songs IMO that didnt make the cut when the cd was put out. So I say fuck it, try to get all u can before shit drops! Just buy it if you really feel it and support artists...
