I just found a copy of Dr. Octagon "Dr. Octagonecologyst" on Vinyl LP. It is in good condition. But this LP is the first presing before it was released on Dream Works Records. This is just Bulk Recordings. It has a different tracklisting:

Side 1:
1. Intro
2. 3000
3. I got to tell you (A visit to the doctor)
4. Earth People
5. No awareness

Side 2:
1. Wild & Crazy
2. Elective Surgery
3. Biology 101
4. Earth People (Earth Planet Remix)

Side 3:
1. Dr. Octagon
2. Girl Let Me
3. I'm Destructive
4. Waiting List (DJ Shadow/Automator Mix)

Side 4:
1.Technical Difficulyies
2. General Hospital
3. Blue Flowers
4. A Visit To The Gynecologist
5. Bear Witness (Q-Berts Story)
6. On Production

Is this worth anything?????

Yeah..........I did pick it up because I have always wanted it on wax. I have had the Dreamworks CD for years. But i was just surprised that this had different tracks and remixes on it that I have never heard. I'll try to post up some pics later. The front cover is the same but the back is different.

On another note..........Keith is releasing a new CD next Tuesday called "Nogatco Rd" and it will include a DVD with his mini movie. Shit should be strange. Here is some info:

Track Listings
1. No Head at All
2. Bionic Fuse
3. Nogatco Rd
4. Night Flyer (Force Field)
5. Dark Space
6. Hello Space Man (Interlude)
7. Celestial
8. Alpha Omega (The Beginning)
9. Big Adventure
10. Black 37
11. Capture (Back To Me)
12. Different
13. Live Dissection feat. Sage Francis, Sole

Editorial Reviews
Album Description
A new classic is born from Hip Hop's most outrageous and unpredictable artist, Kool Keith (Black Elvis, Dr. Octagon, Dr. Dooom). "Nogatco Rd." is Keith's most inventive and highly anticipated album in years. Complete with UFO conspiracies, alien autopsies, coded space raps, and an amazing array of some of the most original tracks in years. Nogatco Rd. features strong and intricate Hip Hop production that is dusted with a dabble of hard rock, electronic and celestial soundscapes.

The "Nogatco Rd." album is also an Enhanced CD that is loaded with features including a 50's style Sci-Fi mini-movie starring Kool Keith (viewable on a computer CD-ROM drive). Other features also include a digital comic book, digital photo album and other treats.

Produced by Iz-Real (of the acclaimed MF Doom/Viktor Vaughn release "Venomous Villain"), "Nogatco Rd." also features guest appearances from progressive Hip Hop stars Sage Francis aka Xual Zan and the king of hard hitting avant-garde Hip Hop, Sole (of Anticon). Talented beatmakers DiViNCi, Jahson, Mr. Hill, EDK, Carl Kavorkian, Broken Klutch and D. Watcher also contribute. Welcome to the world of Hip Hop music's most enigmatic figure; a sinister, scientific Hip Hop genius known as Mr. Nogatco aka Kool Keith; reborn in rare form.

Kool Keith is ill, even if his shit isn't rhyming he can still just flow and still sound dope. I almost never know what the fuck he is rapping about but it still sounds dope. And when he is straight rhyming shit I can understand like on that one track 1977 on Octagonecologyst it's too ill.

When listening to Dr. Octagon, I always assumed it was just science fiction/space fantasy type of rap. Never really thought there was any significant meaning or message that was trying to be conveyed in his rhymes. What do you guys think?

And by the way, Kool Keith does rhyme, but he does it really creatively. Pay close attention to the way he does it, he makes things rhyme that normally wouldn't.

There is definitely a message. Very camoflauged though. He has a lot of hidden disses as well. Sometimes he can be hard to cypher. It kinda makes it fun though. Sometimes, you have to write out his rhymes in front of you, then you get it! It can be a pain in the ass, but its like messin with a rubiks cube. If you like shit like that.
Dont be fooled by the name Nogatco. It's nothiin close to Octagon. It was just used as a marketing thing. IT is good, however, do not confuse it with a follow up. No Automator and Qbert = no Octagon. Simple as that.
IF you want someting similiar, somewhat, to Octagon sound, get the Project Polaroid album. Nogatco is something completely different.

Damn, I had no idea. I'm just curious though, what kinda stuff do you pick up in his songs? Sometimes I get his subliminal disses towards A&R's and commercial rap, yada yada, but that's about it. What do you hear in his songs?

Well, from what I get is that he talks about his personal life in a lot of his songs. It's just very very camoflauged. Like in "Poppa Large" where he says "......a baby boy and a girl"...he's talkin about his kids. A lot of life experience in his stuff. I could quote more, but I have to think about it for a second. You guys gotta peep that "Project Polaroid" album, I'm really pushin for that! It's been getting slept on.

Interesting, I guess i'll be listening a lot closer to hist stuff now, haha. So you're saying even his Dr. Octagon material is filled with messages?
