My personal thoughts are this:

Tech has finally in the last 2 years or so, started saying out loud, "nobody can beat us making music" some one will take notice, and someone WILL take it personally. Tech does not like beef, and he doesnt have to "battle" someone, to exchange in a few tracks that may respond to someone if they had or took issue with his claims.

The beef predates a time when sales were even relevant to the two, since it started prior to the release of both Cloudy Eyed/Mitch Bade and Genuine Liqua Hits. Tech's "baby momma" went over to Vell and got in his ear which led to Vell going at Tech on Genuine Liqua Hits. People then told Tech 'yo, you need to check this album out, he's going at you' so to speak. A few "..."'s later, you got shit like He Wanna Be Paid and Cracker and such.

EDIT: I'm not positive, but I got the feeling this was covered in that big interview RMiller did with Tech. I'm thinking this because Miller took questions from people on here, and thus asked interesting questions that didn't lead to the same five "rehearsed" answers, haha.

And lol @ that "Cracker" track... it was so horrible, I almost wanted to set my computer on fire and throw it out the window, then piss on it. Vell probably can't fuck with anyone lyrically, but dude couldn't touch Tech.

Edit: Oh and looking back on it... That was another track that Techn9nehq.com broke. I miss that early shit.

On a non stan note, Techs writing ability, is difficult to fuck with, but he doesnt claim to be any form of freestyler, therefore flawing ^ YOUR^ logic. He would get eaten alive on a rap battle style competition.

On a side note, you dont have to freestyle to do battle style tracks. If someone takes a shot at Tech in their music, tech may answer back with a premeditated diss track back. I know Don Juan's not a rapper, but Yadda, yadda, yadda is a heavy diss track and it's obviously no freestyle.

I don't even think Tech could write a harder diss track than any dude out there who wants to freestlye on him.

I love Tech's shit but he's not gonna fuck with anybody if they want to battle him for sure. Just not his shit.
