Because it's just out of the question for a rapper to have eclectic tastes.

Gas summed it up perfectly....

It aint for everyone, and has very little replay value cuz u gotta be in a certain mood to be listenin.....i respect where he went with this album and he executed his ideas very well.....

^^I think what dude meant is Pink Floyd were originators in classic rock and invented a completely different sound that hadn't been heard before, and tried to compare them in that context.....I wouldn't say Kid Cudi brought that to hip-hop but this shit is quite different....

well the impact this album will have in its genre, if any, wont come close to Pink Floyds.

I am a Cudi fan don't get me wrong...but I think I agree with Gas One on this one so far...

maybe if i was a 90s baby this shit would be mind blowing.

its not eclectic its wannabe, "I'm different" wha, wha, wha, fuck outta here with that bullshit. I don't like watered down hipster white music, if I'm gonna listen to that shit it's gon be the real shit -not some nigga that think if he start talking about his soul, have no drums in his beat, cry and have some long-haired white dude on his song make him the hottest new shit out.

Kid Cudi's style is to spit his soul, be emotional on tracks speak real life. Having a long haired white dude sing on your song is wrong what the fuck? haha. But really if youve heard a track or two of Cudi and didnt like it why check the album out and rant on how bad it is. I think Cudi's dope and style is essentially to be different.
Ive heard a few tracks and they are dope....
Gonna cop next week.

look i might be wrong for cudis motivations but thats what it seems like all these new school hipster rappers are doing in order to be different, and I don;t like that shit cuz usually it sounds wack. I haven't heard gthe album yet but from what peeps is saying thats what it seems like cudi is doing and that puts a bad taste in my mouth, that's why im talking shit...I was looking forward to this albgm too.

F.F, del, orko, kool keith that's alternative "different" hip hop but authentic.

And how do you know that Kid Cudi doesn't listen to Ratatat or MGMT?

How is it any different that he might want someone from a different genre on his tracks (because he enjoys their music) than Gangsta #1 wanting Gangsta #2 on his track, because he enjoys Gangsta #2's music?

alright so u straight sound like you hate the dude and are judging this album and you havent even heard it yet? and maybe that'll be exceptable if you didnt like other tracks that you heard before the album and whatnot but then say u were looking foward to the album? what the fuck is wrong with you? why would you take someone elses opinions and just roll with so much hate. how the fuck is he a hipster when u havent even heard the album to make that judgement? and if ur judging by what you heard then why were you looking foward to the album? i never e-bash or watever but ur a fucking idiot my friend judging ur posts in this thread. wow. please befor you even reply just listen to the album and then make ur judgements or else ur post is irrelevent.

however i didnt like the album too much, it wasnt bad by all means but i was expecting a lil better than his mixtapes and his mixtapes are alot better than this album IMO. still worth the buy but i was kinda let down.
