^^^ To me he wasnt even dope then, he had some good tracks in the late 90's with Quinn but thats it, all his albums are average at best. He never really was one of the top dudes in the bay and hes a fucken joke now. The only area left to diss the dude is LA for being a fake blood but they probably dont know who the fuck he is anyways.

LOL that's a pretty stupid statement bro. Messy has always been one of the highest selling artists from the Bay. So yeah, he was one of the "top dudes." You may not like him or his music but you gotta respect his place in Bay Area hip hop.

he sold well when the bay was in a drought and the quality albums from bay artists sorta disappeared. Like i said before he wasnt apart of the Getlow movement just did that first explosive mode with Quinn which made his whole career and sorta lived off that ever since, doesn't make him a good rapper cuz of album sales either so no he will never be one of the top dudes. Baby Bash shits on Mess's record sales does that make him one of the top dudes?

classic after classic? hell to the na. He doesn't have a solo where more then half the tracks are good. If that were the case someone I know would have been fucking with his music but noone was. Trust me my friends knew about everything all who are in there 30's now, I didn't really buy many albums in the 90's mostly Sac shit. your given him way more credit then he deserves. I think u need to put more emphasis on he sold a lot from 1999 and on after explosive mode and when the bay completely fell off and really Mess was known that's it, not cuz he's a good rapper like I said before. Noone says I can't wait to hear a Mess verse like they Yuk or Quinn even back then

Nigga u speaking on your opinion. I'm sure it's ppl out there that think the "Chronic" aint no classic, but the guess what it is bro. It's stood the test of time. I aint comparing Messy to the chronic, but his music is just as popular today as it was when he was dropping it. Numbers dont lie. LMAO just cuz u and ur friends dont like something dont mean it aint good. LMAO you sleeping under a rock if u think Quinn & Yuk are anticipated like Mess. Messy might have the biggest fan base out here outside 40 & Mac Dre & Jacka. It's three rappers that I hear everywhere I go, The Jacka, J. Stalin, and Messy Marv. Mess' bullshit street albums even sell more than Quinn & Yuk. That dont mean he a better rapper, it's just a testament to his position in the Bay.
