ok, for people worried about getting sued by the RIAA, wouldn't this work???

In Kazaa's settings you tell it where to download your mp3z to. So to me, it seems like all you have to do is change this to an empty folder and store your mp3z somewhere else. This way you're not sharing any files, which is the whole issue right? Once you download a file, just move it to where you are storing the rest of your mp3z...

i know there is a setting to disable sharing, but i think this way is even better since no matter what, this "empty folder" is the only folder that kazaa can ever have access to.

to me, it seems like thats all you have to do and it will always look like you are not sharing anything.

anyone know why this wouldn't work???

My original post:

Deep Thought said:
I run Kaaza Lite at home. To get around the prying eyes of the RIAA I simply move all my music (once downloaded and screened) to another folder altogether (that's not shared). I also dissabled the ability of users to lookup all my files. So if by chance the RIAA where to see anything in my shared folder (when anything was even in there), it would only be a handful of tracks at best. They're going after the cats who got a thousand or more, not me.
And my bad 'CMe, I posted this on Raptalk, not here.

I'm just fuckin' with ya anyway. But basically I don't know why people haven't been doing this in the first place. I don't want people dl'n off of me. I don't have the connection speed to waste, and why the hell should anyone have the option of knowing what I have?

I never kept anything in my shared folder...

Ive been doing that since the napster days, I wouldn't be able to get half the shit I have now if I were to let people with 14.4k modems mooch off me, when I shared people would try to get 50 of my files at a time and freeze my computer, plus having to go to court over some dumb shit like file sharing is not somethin Im willing to do

I been tellin folks to first of all make sure they usin Kazaalite...which has no adware or spyware so its safer and less annoying to use....it also has the ability to keep users from checcin out your files as Deep Thought mentioned....on top of that you use a fake email address.....move ya files out a ya shared folder or burn them ASAP.....if you do all that i dont see wtf they can bust you for......
