Exactly. No one got over no one. The Marlins gave those dudes away.
so which is it...the Marlins are idiots for giving the best young hitter away or smart for knowing something the Tigers didnt know? which i highly doubt with the high praise Detroit's GM gets around the MLB for his savyness.

In the Long Run, the Tigers got pilfered. In the Short Term, the Tigers will dominate. The Tigers gave away 2 of the 10 top prospects of America and some! Good for the short term, bad for the Long run.

The Detroit Tigers get Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis from the Marlins for Andrew Miller and Maybin (can't remember his name at the moment) and a few prospects.

holy shit!

The Tigers got over on Florida bigtime, they didnt even have to throw in Willis and it still would have been a better deal for Detroit.

are you insane!!! this is a pefect trade for both teams. getting two prospects with the cielings that Miller and especially Maybin have are near impossible to get, let alone from 1 team.

Detroit paid a heavy price for Carbera and Willis. although players like Cabrerra dont come along to often. Maybin has to Potential to be Alfonso Soriano times 10!!!

I agree that both teams got what they WANTED. In terms of short term impact, Tigers obviously got the better end of the deal. In terms of long term impact, who knows. But the Marlins got a couple of guys with HUGE potential, so I wouldn't say they got ripped off. They both just traded for different needs...

when maybin and miller get really good and in line for a raise, florida is just gonna trade them too. so detroit might have them in 3 years again.

you all bring up great points, i agree with what ya'll saying. but what i am saying is....Tha Tigers got one of the top 3 hitters in the game who is barely 24 himself, not even close to his prime yet and will only get better. on the other hand the Marlins did get a half dozen prospects with potential, only thing is...how do we know any of them will even pan out? Maybin has the most potential out of all of them, yet he hasn't shown anything great himself sofar, thats not saying he wont' blossom into a great player though. Miller is another potentially great prospect and to top it off he is a lefty, those are hard to come by, he didnt show me nothin' last year at all either. just like Maybin he is capable of being a top tier player at his position. I dont know much about the catcher they got, but those other prospects they received from what i heard are going to be bullpen guys but 1 of them, who knows there could be a stud or two in tha 3.

Cabrera is only 24 himself, when he came into the league he killed it...absolutely killed it! Now that he is with the Tigers a team with a great lineup and staff, his legend is going to continue to grow and people will recognize his skills even more than they did when he was in Florida.

I'll see what Maybin will do as the starting CF for the Marlins next season before i really pass judgement on this deal, but as of right now knowing what Cabrera has the capablity of doing now and in the future, i will take him over all 6 of those prospects anyday, he is a mixture of ARod and Man Ram IMO.

Giants fans........ just my opinion but i would give up Lincicum for Rios in a heartbeat
It would have taken Lincecum, Jonathan Sanchez, and Angel Villanova(The Next Miguel Cabrera potentially) for Miguel Cabrera

There are rumors that Jay Bruce alone was Offered for Lincecum

Now comparing the three Trade Rumors lets put them side by side

Cabrera>Rios
Cabrera>Bruce

So why would we trade lincecum straight up? I heard Adam Lind might be throne it because he doesn't fit in the Blue Jay's Plans. Add Adam Lind, and it would suffice. But I have a feeling if Lincecum blossoms, this will be a Pedro Martinez type deal.

THE Giants have been given a proposal for Lincecum. Alex Rios, Lind, and a prospect or Troy Glaus, from Toronto. But I would replace Glaus with a Prospect. Maybe instead of a prospect trade for Jeremy Accardo back?
who lind?, I would do this deal only if glaus is in it, giants need at least two good hiters for lincecum.

If you are re-building, then no! If you have established a foundation, pitching, hitting, fielding, and speed, which the giants only have pitching and speed, then yes. If the Giants did this, they'd get raped. Take into account the available hitters next season, it's the best market.

how u like that andruw jones signing? $36 min for 2 years. so is juan pierce getting trade or moving him to left?
pierre going to left.

i would rather have jones signed and KEEP Kemp, Loney, Brox, and Bills. than to have to give up 3 of those young guys and laroache for cabrerra.

jay bruce for lincicum i would do.

i doubt florida would want those prospects for cabrera. that might have been what giants were offering.

floida wanted Matt Kemp, Jonathan Broxton, Clayton Kershaw, and Andy LaRoache for Mig Cabrerra.
