my eyes are sore from rolling to the back of my head. moore's movie was boring for the most part, except for the bush miscues. i dont think moore had to do much editing to make bush look like a dumbass. but he really doesnt make his case at all. im not convinced of some big conspiracy to own iraqi oil.

on the fahrenhype tip, that shit was boring as well, not enough info, too much clinton bashing and finger pointing. it was almost as if it was made to make bush supporters feel better about voting for him. i thought it was going to expose moore a little more in depth, but they really didnt say anything to change the minds of a non bush supporter.

all in all i was disappointed in how both movies relied on emotion tugging clips, rather than actual factual data to support their claims.

ill add more later. has anyone else seen both films?

Fahrenheit 9/11...Funny, entertaining, inaccurate for the most part. Did I still greatly enjoy it? Yes. Is it a big crock of shit? In many ways yes. But we've been eating out of so many shit buckets from people like Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, sometimes Bill O'Reilly, the change was refreshing.

This is what cracks me up about the "liberal media" theory. If our media is so liberal, why was Fahrenheit 9/11 the first movie to seriously come out and attack Bush and Republicans? Why don't we see this shit on a daily basis from the media? We obviously don't. If there is a fucking "liberal media", I really wish someone would point me in the direction. I would watch TV like a mothafucka.

FahrenHYPE 9/11...The terrorists are coming, The terrorists are coming, we must bomb Arab countries. Iraq was a huge threat. "Liberals" are like the people who let the nazis take over. Clinton this, Clinton that, Clinton refused Osama in 1999 (False.) Zell Miller, the Democrat who has a more Republican voting record than Adolf Hitler, the guy who voted to keep Nelson Mandela in prison, talked about snakes, dragonflies, and crawdads in his backyard, etc.

Be afraid, vote Republican, shoot Arabs, be afraid, etc. My roomate got this movie and I'm taking a break about halfway through...it's hard to watch such a retarded ass movie in one sitting. Ann Coulter's jittery, anorexic ass looks like shes ready to bust a blood vessel everytime she talks, and Dick Morris, along with Zell Adolf Miller talk about what Clinton did wrong, etc.

all the facts in moore's movie are true... Dude had a gang of fact checkers from NYtimes and other professionals verify that. If you know of any false facts in the movie, show it 2 moore's company cuz its worth 10 g's.

Liberal media that makes bush look stupid? only show i can think of is Daily Show on comedy central.

J-Funk much of it has been proven incorrect...the whole 10k offer thing you can disregard. Probably 60-70% of F9/11's facts are half-truths and falsities.
proven incorrect by who? many of the facts were taken out of context, but none-the-less are facts.

George Bush Sr. signed on to whatever company after they had been sold by the Carlyle group.

The Afghani pipeline theory was debunked.

Saudi nationals left the US after air traffic was reopened.

Daily Show doesn't discriminate, they go after both parties and especially the media with a vengeance.

Yes 206, 100% of the time, if Oil + Capitalism + Imperialism = 1,

then Bush = 1, and any and all imperialist economic theories are true in every case.

I don't share your worldview. I agree with you about global problems and the culture of capitalism, however viewing Iraq as strictly as an "oil war" lacks policy imperative and efficacy.

The Afghan pipeline was courted by a number of companies including Unocal, and was eventually scrapped. If the entire project goes under before the war starts, is it still an oil war? Did Bush get the memo too late, or what?

It is highly unlikely the US will gain permanent allies in either Afghanistan or Iraq. Thus, there is a serious lack of economic impetus or crude reserve gain. I know a simple mention of the TLC, CFR, Carlyle, IMF, are instant "truth verifiers" in your book, but they aren't in mine.

No where in his movie did he say such things, he only used clever wording to elude to it, knowing that the general public would fall for it.
For example... Most people if asked after seeing the movie would say that the movie stated that the saudis were allowed to leave the US while air traffic was closed. However Moore cleverly said the exact opposite.
In the movie, he comments that the 'flights left after the 13th', when in fact US airspace was open on the 14th, but technically the fact is true because he says, "after the 13th...". He cleverly worded it and added visuals to make people think that the flights left on the 13th, and most people fell for it.
None of his facts have actually been disproven, because technically they are true.

Mclean, you heard audio of Clinton refusing to accept Osama bin Laden? Interesting. Probably some out of context shit used to suit a purpose.

In any case, do some researching on the Osama claim. Who is the main source for it? Monsoor Ijaz, an oil profiteer with heavy ties to the Sudanese government. This guy was trying to get sanctions lifted from Sudan so he could complete an investment in Sudanese oil. He was the "middle man" through which Osama was supposedly offered.

The US Govt., in fact two top US Generals checked with the government in Sudan, who admitte dthey did not "have" him and had heard of no such deal that Ijaz was offering.

There is a happy ending to the story, though. Monsoor Ijaz is now a foreign affairs consultant for the Fox News Channel. Great reward for attempting ot get sanctions lifted from a terror sponsoring state.

"The Sudanese government had Osama and was willing to hand him over." This is the same government currently responsible for the mass murders occuring in Sudan as we speak.

That's like saying "the Germans promised me Hitler! I swear! All they said I had to do was walk inside his bunker in Berlin and fetch him out by the ear."

The offer of Osama was through a third party, a guy who wanted the US to lift sanctions against Sudan so he could make money in Sudanese oil. The Sudanese government actually said they knew of no such offer when asked about it, and told the US they don't work through middlemen.
