Why does everyone always say "this aint 95 its 2003"?..

Its 2003 so that makes it ok to put out a half assed album?
I dont think anyone really cares if his new music sounds like the YBB days, we just want the same quality in the music it had back then..that dont mean you gotta try to remake a 10 year old style, come up with some new shit but bring the same effort and quality content it had..but nah its 2003 now so we dont gotta put as much effort into the beats, we can through together some corny little repetative synthy beat with 4 sounds and rap into a shitty mic and not put out the money to get it properly mixed and mastered right?

I havnt peeped alot of Mac Dres new shit but it sounds like he cant even distingiush good from bad anymore..same goes for Lynch, Snoop and any other rapper who has fried their brain to shit..the music aint as tite anymore period..
Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but the way I see things can be summed up w/ this quote:

"If someone comes along and complains that Rap 'isn't what it used to be', it's just a sign of THAT PERSON getting old."

--Chuck D., from the liner notes of Public Enemy's APOCALYPSE 91: THE ENEMY STRIKES BLACK (yeah, I know he's not Bay-related, but think about it, and you'll find that it makes sense).

PEACE!

Uhh yea, everyone is getting older day by day so whats your point?.. I guess I have out grown most rap although I can say if the bullshit that is coming out nowadays, came out back when I was a kid and first gettin into rap(early 90's) I probally would have never gotten into it in the first place..Im a fan of actual MUSIC, not a fast synthy club beat that loops 2349783274234 times over and over that dumb little high school bitches have been brain washed to like..

Don't get me wrong, I've been an MD fan since day one. But I feel since the original Romp, the music has steadily declined. I remember the days when I was waitin for him to get out the pen so I could see him make so good music and blow. When the Romp 1 hit, I felt that he was on his way. But since then, I feel that he's definately taken a step down with each album. Now there may have been some albums that showed some potential, but overall the fire's been burning out.
In my opinion he needs to get back with Jay Tee (N2Deep) like he was doing with Romp 1, cause beat wise, that whole album bumps. Otherwise I feel he will continue to lose fans with every album.
As far as him rappin, I know he hasn't lost it. Just look at what he does with his guest spots. Some of his tightest verses are with cats that he doesn't roll with everyday. Look at the track he did with Ray Luv (can't remember the name of the track but I think that Mac Mall is on it too), that shit is bangin! Fuck it, I want to see a whole album with MD, Mac Mall, Ray Luv and Ant D.O.G.! That would be the shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And have Khyree do the production...... Who's with me? Can I put my $16 bucks down now? Throw in a couple Mark 7 beats.... oh... this shit would be hot!!!!!!!!!! Want to see the Bay come back? With that album, done.
Point is, I'm waitin for that breakthrough MD album. I still got faith he'll get there one day, cause he'll always be one of my fav artists. Just my opinion though.

The point of the Chuck D. quote is that a person who says that "Rap isn't what it used to be" might be getting too old for Rap/Hip-Hop in general, that's all.

BTW--about your "high school bitch" comment: yours truly graduated from high school more that a decade ago and has listened to Rap and other genres of music since the 1980s' (Rock, Blues, Jazz, R&B, Soul, Reggae, Folk, Classical, etc), adjusting to the different eras and changes that came about w/ no problem, so I haven't been "brainwashed to like" anything. LOL! Opinions are just opinions...

It's time for me to milk the cows and goose the chicken, so in the words of Dubee AKA Sugawolf, "bye-bye, now!" MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

PEACE!

Good point. That's why I listen to mostly underground-type Rap (Cali, Midwest, some Southern artists, etc).

PEACE!
