maybe its just me and my folks that noticed this, but does it seem like Dre went off the deep end experimentin with exxos and now its affectin his music quality....cause to me this album really was shitty....and Al BooBoo is even worse from what I hear....
maybe he need to go back to just smokin some backwoods....(them muthafuckas is harsh as fuck by the way, dont know how cats smoke blunts wit em)

Am i the only one that noticed this...

I agree something has happened since Mac Dre is the Name came out. He is certainly popping a lot of something. Personally, I thought Al Boo Boo was actually an improvement, his beat effort since stupid doo doo dumb. Dre's always been on the same comical level though, I remember laughing at some of his lines on every album.

it sound like he rappin layin down in bed geekin off a thizz or something (too relaxed and drugged out sounding)....and some lines were just comical to the point of stupidity, there were 1 or 2 songs that were Ok, but the album to me wasnt worth buying...

For those die-hard Mac Dre fans who dug his shit from DAY ONE (Young Black Brotha) etc., his newer shit is a BIG disappointment..."Thizz Music"...Whatever man, this ecstasy shit has gone WAY too far and yeah, I think it HAS affected his music. Now the only ones who feel it are ones who "thizz" lol

On another note tho, I DID get a chance to hear some of Al Boo Boo and it DID seem like an improvement...Hopefully one day I'll get a chance to work with em and make a dope cut...But EVERYONE knows that NOTHING will EVER touch the shit he did with Khayree!!!

Just My Thoughts...Don't Hate,
Mark

Al Boo Boo is Mac Dre's best CD since Stupid Doo Doo Dumb, by far! That thizz is NOT affecting his music, it ONLY affected Thizzelle Washington. I like his style these days more than I liked his old style, simply because his lines are fucking hilarious no matter what. Sure, he used to be a better overall rapper, but these days he has pure charisma, humor, and straight positive spitting on the mic. And after watching Treal TV, you cant NOT like Mac Dre.

I havent listened to Al Boo Boo on E, but from what I can tell, it wouldnt make a difference. Its the best CD to sit back and smoke a blunt to this year. Thizzelle Washington came out ,and although it had some hits, it was very obvious that the whole thing was 'too thizzed' out, and the quality of music suffered. I believe Mac Dre realized this and switched his game plan real quick, cause Al Boo Boo is heat.

Hes not popping as many pills as he was last year anyway, from what I hear. As long as he aint dropping multiple times a week, I think he got 2-3 GOOD cd's left in him, maybe more.

I agree with all of you in the fact that MD's new shit will never be like his old shit. I've been long over that. Anybody hoping he will magically comeback to rap like the old YBB days should definitely stray away from his newer music, because you will just be setting yourself up for disappointment. If you can open your mind and accept the fact that YBB days are long gone, then its possible to enjoy the more comedic sense of Dre's raps. Personally I liked Thizzelle Washington, my only complaints on that album are the fact that its mastering is less than desirable, and there are too many features.. other than that the album was a decent effort and I rate it a 7/10. All Boo Boo ill rate at an 8/10 only because it was too damn short or else I would have given it a 9.

I couldn't have said that better myself...Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but MD's shit nowadays is meant to be for fun, not intellectual thought, and I'm cool with that--who the hell wants to be thinking all the time?!?

If you want deep meaning, study philosophy. It's 2003, not 1996 (I know I'm sounding like a broken record w/ that statement, but it's the truth). Just my view, though...

PEACE!

For real. I've been a Mac dre fan for a couple of years and since romp 2, his music changed wai too much. from romp 2 to al boo boo, all his releases suck for me but I have to say his latest album is kind of tight, moreover Mac dre putted out one of the best DVD ever made, I'm feelin hime once again.

i been a mac dre fan since day one and he'll always be my favorite artist but every album after "Rapper Gone Bad" has gone bad."Heart Of A Gangsta...." was good shit too but still a step down,IMO,from Rapper Gone Bad and Stupid Doo Doo Dumb....

Mac Dre Is The Name was garbage.he had tight spit on there, but out of the NEW songs on the album only "Im Doin What I Do" was good quality.the mixing was shit and the beats wasnt realy tight on the other shit....

Its Not What You Say....was coo.sounded better, but still sounded like shit for Mac Dre,hows a Northern Cali King gonna skimp on his work?

Thizzelle Washington was shit and a half.tight L's and a few coo beats but the quality was some bull shit.its like he dont wanna drop g's on beats and a few notes on studio time no more.he gon' the cheaper way out and you can tell.you cant hide being cheap....

Al Boo Boo sounds 10 times better then his last 3 solos....

the thing is dude gots character and vision but he just needs to quit bein so cheap.he needs to fuck with Johnny Z, K-Lou,Funk Daddy,Philly Blunt and Lev more.those are the cats that he sounds good with and gonna make his shit sound good....

some of his best songs sound like SSSHHHHHHIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT.

it sucks when your older records from the early 90's sound 100 times better then your newer shit in a new mellenium....

regardless,Dre's still my favorite artist.he aint gotta step up game,he just gots to take it back to the late 90's and keep it quality....

Sure. Like Psilo said, the '91-'97 releases are better in terms of production, lyrical flow, etc., but Dreezy's solos from RAPPER GONE BAD and on are not the crimes against nature that some make them out to be.

MD'S THE NAME, IT'S NOT WHAT YOU SAY, THIZELLE and AL BOO BOO all have 2-to-4 songs (depending on the CD) that I didn't feel, but enough songs on them ARE good-to-dope-to-classic to make the CDs cool, IMHO. The only MD-related CD that I honestly cannot get into at all as a fan is MAC DAMMIT MAN & FRIENDS...

I've said this before, but I can't stress it enough: the more of a "living life to the fullest" person you are, and the less seriously you take life, the more you'll be able to dig MD's current vibe. If you're an "all business/nothing in life is funny/stay home every night/go to bed early/conform to my girl's wishes even if I don't agree" type, MD probably isn't your rapper. Just my view, though...

PEACE!

Why does everyone always say "this aint 95 its 2003"?..

Its 2003 so that makes it ok to put out a half assed album?
I dont think anyone really cares if his new music sounds like the YBB days, we just want the same quality in the music it had back then..that dont mean you gotta try to remake a 10 year old style, come up with some new shit but bring the same effort and quality content it had..but nah its 2003 now so we dont gotta put as much effort into the beats, we can through together some corny little repetative synthy beat with 4 sounds and rap into a shitty mic and not put out the money to get it properly mixed and mastered right?

I havnt peeped alot of Mac Dres new shit but it sounds like he cant even distingiush good from bad anymore..same goes for Lynch, Snoop and any other rapper who has fried their brain to shit..the music aint as tite anymore period..
