And as i said before i dont own an awax cd or feel his music but for a journislitic dvd i think you did him dirty. So any future dvds may be edited in your own bias or due to outside pressure, so are less credible.
its all jesus, but basically my thing is is that you can't make everyone happy all of the time. at that time i had to make a choice, which was put the interview out and deal with the consequences, or pull the interview and piss the consumers off. ultimately i have to look out for myself before your own personal entertainment, i'm sorry but that's what it is. it wasn't an easy choice to make, but i think that it was the right one, even though i still deal with backlash from that choice to this day.
ron from underdog actually told me that shit was gonna happen if i tried to put out that interview, that someone was gonna be pissed off. he was like, "i don't want funk with awax or the mob figaz. do you? thats why i don't run comments in xxplosive where one artist is dissing another." on bad judgement i ignored the og homies advice and thats how the shit ended up. so again, live and learn, and in the future obviously i will try and heed his advice.
btw, if you want to try and point out bias in journalism - especially hiphop journalism, most of these magazines are straight up whores for advertising money! there is no truth in journalism homie! straight up. i'm not gonna name any names but have you ever noticed how a muthafucka will have an ad, an article, and a review in the same issue of a magazine? do you think that happened by chance? do you really think that album review is unbiased? how the fuck did lil kim get 5 mics? do you think that a reporter is going to ask tough questions, knowing that a rapper can be like fuck you, i'm not advertising with yall any more? do you? no.
me, my sales are tied directly in to the consumers. if the consumers arent buying, i'm not in business. period. i have no outside pressure to change any journalistic content whatsoever from a label, no reason to lie for a dollar. i don't get paid to put a muthafucka on a cover, no special favors from labels or shit like that. i put out whatever i know the fans want to see. thats why yuk is gonna be on the next cover instead of mc nodoubt. dig? muthafuckas have tried to pay me to get on my shit - i don't get down like that. for the most part, if i'm not coming to you, then i don't want to do the interview. period.
i ask whatever questions i want, insofar as they're not gonna get me fucked up or put me in a fucked up position. if you think that affects my journalistic credibilty then fine, but i don't know too many journalists that will put their neck on the chopping block for this shit. and for the most part i ask whatever the fuck i want to. but am i gonna ask yuk, "so, i heard you got stuffed in a trunk back in the days." NO! even though the little fanboy inside of me might wanna know the answer, its disrespectful - and even if it did happen i know dude doesnt wanna talk about that shit. but by not asking that question is my journalistic integrity compromised? NO! i'm just using better judgement.
btw you gotta realize i was 22 at the time this whole shit happened so there is a learning curve folks, but trust me i don't make the same mistakes twice. no complaints on the last 3 dvds right? right. so some bullshit happened 2 years ago, old news, get over it.
BUT ANYWAYS, BACK TO THE ACTUAL TOPIC OF THIS POST, I JUST WANTED TO THANK EVERYONE WHO HAS CHECKED OUT THE YUKMOUTH INTERVIEW I UPLOADED ONTO YOUTUBE, AND EVERYONE WHO HAS POSTED A REPLY.
