uh, not really bro, if he's sampling, that's coming from someone elses brain. Someone already thought about that sound before he did. It'll be nice if more producers actually hit the keys themselves, I give those the most credit because that takes the most skill and is the most original.
It would be one thing if he was taking a 2-4 bar section but he chops alot of shit beyond recognition....it does take alot of talent for that.....Its easier for me to make original beat with my mpc3000 and keys as opposed to sample beats(unless I do the jack the 4 bar method)......also what some dont realize is some of the great producers like quik and dre are heavy into sampling.not everyone knows thios cause sometimes they replay the sample and many times people arent familiar with the original

You know what, think what you want to think. To me there's no fucking difference, their both just terms.
There's a huge difference and you thinking otherwise doesn't change that fact.

To me it sounds like your trying to identify the word "producer" with people who only make money off the shit they make. Hell nah, there's a lot of people out there that make music and don't make money off their shit because they don't have the connections or they do it just as a hobby and too me their still producers or beatmakers, whichever term you want to use. It's just a fucking term.
I didn't say or imply anything about making money. Money has nothing to do with whether or not you know what you're talking about.

Anyways, I wasn't trying to downgrade Just Blazes status or anything, just saying in general, that if your making music your still "producing" sound, and if it's up to you, you can call yourself a producer or beatmaker, whichever one you feel the most comfortable with.
A person can call themselves whatever they want but it doesn't make it true or accurate. Maybe this will help... Since a cameraman is actually shooting the video, can he legitimately call himself a film director? No, not unless he really is a film director in addition to being a cameraman.

Fuck that shit homie, never downgrade yourself, your giving the word Producer too much credit. I think your getting it confused with Mix Engineer.
No, I'm not confusing anything. I (and others as well like Heresy) have already explained what these titles mean and what responsibilities they usually come with in other posts. If you want to use these terms then I strongly recommend you look those posts up and learn what they mean because you clearly aren't getting it.

I think I know why you and so many others are so confused over this... Because a lot of composers, writers, musicians, etc. also wind up being producers as well. It's a matter of one person wearing many hats and you not being able to distinguish the actual job titles apart from one another.

For the sake of this not having to go any further, just take my advice and do your homework...

this is what it means to me

beatmaker
a person who makes tracks but is not concearned with making a song.
it doesn't mean beatmakers are less talented than producers, but they have less to do with how the song turns out in the end.

producer(hip hop)
a beatmaker who is involved with the song from beginging to end
part songwriter,part engineer,part vocal coach,etc....

sometimes a guy who is normally a producer can be beatmaker if he is callobs with other producers.

Haha...just clownin man. I know what you're saying tho. But theres a huge difference between finding a nice 4 bar loop and just looping it up and throwing some drums and a bassline on top of it...and chopping up a sample until its almost unrecognizable and re-arranging it to create a whole new song...and thats what Just Blaze does...well besides Touch The Sky...LOL

I'll just say this...

This has been discussed MANY times, but just cause Blaze doesn't PLAY the instruments he uses doesn't matter!

Quincy Jones used MAAAAANY studio musicians to help create his masterpieces....So does that mean he isn't a producer???

lol ok I'm done
