Besides the first 3 rounds, I wasn't impressed by Cassamayor's performance. He looked like he gassed by the 4th round...just landed a good clean shot...and got a questionable stoppage IMO.

I don't think it was all that questionable. After the first knockdown of the round Katsidis didn't really walk straight to the ref and then got nailed hard again. He could've let it go on a little longer though due to the nature of the fight and how much was at stake.

.. Steve Smoger should ref every fight from here on out to avoid early looking stoppages.

I agree ^^^ with u on that Katsidis was off balance after the knock down, when he tried to walk to the ref I was shock that the ref let him continue after that but overall the ref did his job by looking out for the fighter

I don't think anybody would be complaining about the stoppage if he would've stopped it after the initial knockdown instead of letting him go on..

But once he let him fight more, I thought he shouldn't have stopped it that quickly because he was the aggressor but got caught again with a shot and probably would've gone down once Casamayor hit him with a couple more after that, but... you know didn't happen.

I'm a huge Chico fan; always will be, so like I've said numerous times, fuck Joel's faggot ass. I'd like to see someone push his fucking eyeballs back into his slimy little head.

He's a terrific fighter (sometimes), but I'd like to think that the world would be a better place if he was tossed in a meat grinder.

damn, great fight. I thought the stoppage was a lil bit early, BUT I blame katsidis for that - he was winning the fight! After the first few rounds, and the knockdowns, he was pretty much kicking casamayors ass. Then, in that last round, it's like he completely forgot about the first round, started going crazy (or reckless) and left himself wide open for the KO punch. He lost that fight, casamayor got off the hook, imo.

entertaining fight though

Katsidis did get rocked for a second time, but I think even a 6 or 7 second extension to see if he still had his legs under him would've given a better idea of if he was truly finished or not.

Either way, the fight was in his hands and it seems to me he got over excited. Good fight tho...I enjoyed watching it...

Michael Katsidis rebounded to outland Casamayor 97-51 in power shots over the next six rounds before running into a Casamayor left hand in round ten. Casamayor would end the fight moments later.

At the time of the stoppage, Katsidis led 84-83 on 2 cards thru nine. Casamayor led 85-82 on the third card

I had it 84-83 Casamayor although I could see how some had it 84-83 Katsidis. That third round was a tough frame to score.

Just watched the fight. Casamayor has no class. getting into the face of Katsidis when he was making his entrance, punching him when katsidis was already down to a knee, making a motion after him when the bell rang.
i see why so many people hate him.
Katsidis is still the man.
