BACKSTAGE JEFF HARDY-WWE UPDATE (SPOILER WARNING)
By Mike Johnson on 2009-08-26 09:47:54

As noted in last night's spoilers sent in by James King Jeff Hardy was "run out" of World Wrestling Entertainment by World champion CM Punk in a Steel Cage match that will headline Friday's Smackdown.
In his only comment after finishing his WWE tenure, Hardy told twitter followers, "Made it!"

Backstage, Hardy was told by WWE management that he had an open door to come back whenever he wanted and that if the company could help promote any of his outside projects, they'd be happy to plug him into their synergy. Hardy is planning to do musical performances with his band, Peroxwhy?gen, and also work on a potential reality series.

Hardy told the company he wasn't leaving because he was unhappy, but that he wanted time off of the road and to do things at his own pace.

The feeling among everyone was that it was a matter of when, not if, Hardy would be back in the fold. A lot of wrestlers were comparing his exit to Chris Jericho's several years ago. Jericho went off to work on several acting and musical projects before making his return to the company, ending up in a much more prominent position because of it.

There was a lot of praise on Hardy's last several months as it was felt his work helped bring CM Punk up to a new level where Punk would be seen as a legitimate force going into his next feud against the Undertaker, which is going to be designed to cement Punk's place on the Smackdown side. In a lot of ways, Hardy helped Punk evolve into the most compelling character and the top heel in the company.

I figured I'd check em out on youtube, and if what I heard was any indication, he SERIOUSLY needs to reconsider that thought... I think I'd rather watch the grass grow while giving myself papercuts, than listen to garbage like that...

job well done for hardy though...towards the end he didnt sandbag or half ass his shit...he still gave it his all...its hard to think of any other wrestler in the current roster who would be willing to do a TLC match a couple days before they leave and move on with other projects...

But you know theres no way in hell wee pg or not is gonna let a wrestler say that to fans in this day in age. it would be horrible publicity too. Personally I dont liek punk as a heel He did better as a face

say what you want about Jeff Hardy but he helped build up CM Punk to be one of the best heels in WWE today....after they crushed his momentum as WWE champ on Raw last year, he needed it....

I'm sure dude will be back in at least a year....

I hope Jeff stays away from that spray paint and other things he can inhale...haha...
Jeff is pretty good but I think he needs a break as of late he seems to be less passionate about wrestling again.

to me smackdown could not have ended any better, all his fans crushed. I use to like Jeff but his whole look or role turned me off as a fan. I hope they bring back as a heel if he comes back.

Looks like punk could be a temp champ. The probaly wanted a heel to have the tittle so taker can take that shit. Bc taker deserves the belt the most the last two times he had it he had to give it up bc injuries

if Jericho is still tag champs with the big slow when Edge comes back, call me crazy but i think Edge and Christian will get back together for a short while as a tag team and take the belts from Jericho.
