...about Tech's signature "bark". Something I was thinking yesterday.



Sometimes the "jeah" fits beautifully. On more staccato tracks, more "hardcore" anthemic tracks, etc. it can blend together with the music and lyrics to the point that you can't even tell it's there, but you'd know it was gone if it wasn't there.

BUT...

sometimes that shit an be distracting as hell. Case in point: Crybaby. One of the dopest songs on the entire 2-discs of Killer and occasionally all I can find myself thinking is "dammit, the 'jeah' in this song is just ruining shit". Unless I tune it out it can be borderline annoying in some songs.

Then when I wathed the I'll Pass video on another message board where someone had posted it I noticed how "clean" it sounded without the "jeah" (this was right after listening to and getting annoyed by it on Crybaby).



In sum. Tech...stop it. Or use sparingly. Thanksthat'llbeall.

I have to be like thinkin about it to notice it.... but i do agree in some cases.... i think he should make a new version of 'jeahs' or 'cheahs' though. Alot of times it makes tha song tighter though. CHEA!

i used to never notice it, but one of my friends started making fun of it, and so whenever hes around and im listenin to tech he jus keeps sayin cheaya n stuff haha, but sometimes its a bit much, but i usually dont notice it so if thats what he likes to do in his music, more power to him

I liked when he did it in My World, mainly because of the "singing" way he did it. It was a good way to contrast between the sick and energetic verse that Tech was spitting while also keeping the song calm with the way he was saying it. I also liked how the chorus played backwards before Tech's verse, that was kind of a forewarning to let people know that a sick verse was coming.

Sometimes its hard to notice... but sometimes its right after EVERY line..Still nothing wrong with it but its there... It doesnt bother me
