Not a big Jay Z fan, but Im not gonna talk down on his shit till I hear it, cause one thing Jay has is insane flows.

But, no matter how dope his shit is, i think making that Pac video/song was a mistake.

Jay's a bitch with a little bit of mic skill.

His new diss to Nas is so weak I had trouble believing it was legit.

Jay's diss chorus

"H... OVA... I Got My Mojo Back Baby Oh Behave"

Nas' diss chorus

"I(fuck with your soul like ether) Will (teach you the king you know you) NOT (God's son across the belly) Lose"

It's clear who takes the art form of rap more seriously.

If Nas' Stillmatic and Lost Tapes were a double disc album, y'all would be riding him hard... instead you're on Jay for his new B- album which is way wacker than the OG blueprint...

so what jay gave money? am i supposed to give a fuck? i gave a quarter to a bum the other day, should i make a song about it? fuck that shit, donate your money & shut your fuckin mouth. it makes no difference to me if a nigga donate zero dollars or he donates a million dollars, or he donates a quarter to a bum. that shit is all relative, and its fuckin meaningless. a nigga donating something and then braggin about it is a fishy snake ass nigga.

like i said, nas is as transparent as jay-z. they both walking contradictions, trying to portray a righteous positive image, but they both know that neither of them would still be in business unless they rapped about the same ole "thug" bullshit, and that big tittie bitches need to be in they videos. this is the status quo.

so jay-z callin out nas for being hypocritical is kinda like that pot that decided to call the kettle black, if ya know what i mean. they both play both sides of the fence, and they both some niggas that need to check they motivations.

i don't look to either of these niggas for any socially conscious material or enlightenment, but of the 2 only nas has any music that i can stand to listen to. jay-z shit is just difficult for me to find interest in, i don't dig the beats or cheesy ass remakes he keeps doing, and his content doesn't appeal to me. i don't think nas is any kind of socially conscious messenger as he would like to portray himself as, he's also guilty of going to the "pussy & paper" well too often. and now nas is fuckin with ja rule & them, who are the EPITOME of that faggot ass pop music fluffy whip mtv candy ass pussy music shit, it's obvious his motives are not as pure as he tries to present them to be. niggas is all walking contradictions.

i just didn't dig the new jay-z, and i thought the nas dis was weak. callin the nigga "gay" and talkin personal shit about him aint my thing though, far as i'm concerned i might not like dude's music, but i am happy to observe the hustle.

Nas' poetry is deeper, and he does offer social criticism.

Does Jay Z have anything on either BP1 or 2 that rivals songs like

You're The Man
One Mic
Every Ghetto

Or even the stillmatic freestyle?

Of coures Jay doesn't.

End of story.

Like I said, it's too bad that Nas' last two albums(Lost Tapes, STillmatic) weren't a double. That way there would be no doubt as to who was putting out doper shit.

that shit IS tight......i knew it was gonna be tight, no question, and it lived up to expectations

the nas diss was CANNED though, gabage......and nas is gonna flame him all over again on his next one...not to say nas is a better artist, but nas is more lyrical, especially when he has a topic to write about...

one thing though, about this new shit....he flipped too many tracks that he shouldn't have touched....bay shit too...
1. me and my girlfriend--- pac hated that fool, and therefore he shouldn't have came near that track....he did the song no justice, and didn't even use the metaphor which made the orinal song hot... 2. the digital underground flip... 3. puttin big's most famous verse on a track with him...for what? what's the point... 4. and every track has the sped up old singin' ass bitch voice, that shit was cool for a NY minute, but damn....too much.

overall the cd is tight...could have been all on one cd....but fuck it....hot is hot

Well said Cane. Jigga is a fuckin' innovator. His abum is blazin'. A fuckin' classic in my opinion.

Those who choose to sleep could learn alot from this cat. All his albums have jewels embedded in em'. Everybody acts like they're the rap police, taking personal offense to what this nigga does, or how he covered a Pac song. That criticism is lame and baseless, in my opinion.

"Can I Live??????????"

Feel me, Cane?

The Bay ain't on top right now because most of the shit coming out is garbage. The last album to come out of the bay that was worth my bread was E-40s last one. You can't blame Jay and Nas because because you can't make a hit song to save your life. When the bay starts putting out hot shit I will buy it. But lets be real this isn't even about "The Bay vs New York" the is about "Jay has all the shine right now and I don't so I am jealous." Be real with your self man. The way you conduct your self you won't make it to Jays level. Now mind you the comment I made about you buying the cd was just a joke. I wasn't taking shots at you. But then here you come hollerin "Oh the bay don't sell records because you guys bought Jay-Zs new album and not MC such and Such from oakland." I don't know what your obsession with Jay-Z is but you must have like a mental block or somthing. You should seek some form of counseling. Here is a number for you.

lol.....yeah NAS is weak, open your ears playa!!!!!
believe me i tried, i always do. i just cant get into nas or jay z. i read these posts and listen to what my brother and other people is sayin and i just dont get it. when i listen to either of them they both sound weak to me. nas sounds terrible. jay z's voice is a lil better to me. but i wouldn't spend 5 dollars on either of these cats cd's if it was on a super sale. i'd go spend my money in the used section and get 18wit a bullet, or spice 1's 187 he wrote (thats actually what i did). its my opinion and i dont see it changin. i aint hatin either nigs. i tried listening to both of these fools and its almost unbearable listening to nas and jay z is unimpressive. does anyone else feel this way. cuz i feel like i'm the only one in the world.

Jay-Z is tight. i can just play all his albums, one after the other.
haven't heared the new album yet, cause i don't have any money this week but i'll eventually get it.
he does annoy me though, he tries to act as if he doesn't take Nas seriously but then makes little comments whenever he gets the chance.

I used to feel that way man. I have always like Jay-Z and Nas though. But as far as east coast music goes I couldn't really dig it you know. But once I got into making music I learned something. You can't cut your self off from the "Other Coast" because you will miss out on some good music. Hip hop started over there and if you deny east coast music you are shorting your self. But don't use Jay and Nas as the end all be all of New York rap. Go pick up a Kool G Rap album or Rakim and give it a listen.

see, i hella respect you and your opinion, because it iz a valid and educated one. its not like some foolz on here like " i fukin hate GAY-Z" "support your own" and bullshit like that. some people are so closed minded when it comes to music as well as other aspects of life. if u dont feel Jay-Z thats cool, but to say punk HATIN ASS SHIT like he needs to get smoked, and he has nuthin to say is ignorant. Everyone is not gonna agree on one artist. Perfect example i dont feel SOUTH PARK MEXICAN, but i respect that mans hustle and what he has done for the rap game in Texas and LATIN RAP. Jay -Z has alot of game to offer to a lot of cats. jus listen and how come so many people HATE on rappers who appear on MTV
