I have been noticing as of late, MANY people on this forum, and a in real life, get they feelings hurt when people talk bad about their favorite rapper or their favorite rapper makes a decision they don't agree with. Why are people so passionate about rappers? self esteem and insecurity issues perhaps? lets speak on it. I notice we have quite a few intelligent posters in this forum, so what ya'll think?

I think people in general have associated their lifestyles and persona around rappers and putting down their favorite rapper is in essence a put down to themselves.

Also people can't take criticism and would rather persuade some else to favor a rapper of their liking rather listening to the facts.

It has a lot to do with maturity and since no one has really set that forth you get a lot of stupid responses

I know i have a couple of posts out there askin who ur favorite rappers are. I like to see who people listen to. I think its funny when people get mad at eachother over another dude or a crew full of dudes that rap. But as far as hero's, i dont have one.

i also notice that when someones favorite rapper(hero) gets exposed for snitching or kissing another mc or running away from getting beat up or just doing some gay shit, the fan tends to back that artist up and tries to say something that will help him keep their(artist) street cred.

I don't see why would you get all hurt when someone doesn't like or prefer your favourite rapper.......that's almost like groupie style, lol.

Well put..... If you listen to somebody that much, you probably relate to them on some level like you would someone you actually know. Some people take it a little too seriously and will react accordingly if you're critical of that particular rapper.

And everybody sort of wants that validation that they have a good taste in music, so when you're shitting on their favorite rapper of all people it sort of knocks that.

I like lil boosie. a lot of cats on this board think he's wack. am i gonna call them cocksuckers or whatever for not liking him cuz i do. no, of course not. I guess my way of thinking is different, because i can see how cats might not like him. like bavgate for example.

I look up to alot of rappers, for alot of reasons, the money they make and their hustle, their opinions on social issues and what they really do about the issues..but I think sayin a rapper is my hero goes too far. I look up to alot of people who seems like they got where I wanna go but wen it comes down to it i just use that as advice and guidlines Im my own man

sumtimes its hard to let sumone think a rapper Is wack that u think is hella sick, but i try to let them keep their own opinions as much as i can

this doesnt just go for rappers it goes for everyone and everything in life

I love the fact that not ONE person on here will admit to having a rapper as a hero, but, if you look back over the past week even, you'll see the groupies come out of the closet.

Take the thread about Loki...that's ''groupie love'' at it's finest. ITS FREAKS was told he sucks, Loki is 10x better than him, blah blah blah...now granted, he may have had it coming, some feel, for dissing another artist, but...IF YOUR FEELINGS WERE HURT AND YOU FELT YOU HAD TO BASH THE MAN...then that just means that YOU, MY FRIEND, ARE A GROUPIE.

This wasn't directed at anyone in particular...just an observation. I could give a fuck about Loki or ITS FREAKS...I don't care for either's music. I just enjoyed the people who jumped on him as if he cursed Christ himself. Especially since there's plenty of people wondering WHO'S LOKI?
