Fakeness is the shit, that's exactly what I've been trying to get at. I go by both Dirty Shoez and Tadou.....that is the beginning of a very powerful fakeness. But do you see me getting all defensive about it? ...No.
About the last person you'd expect to hear the cry-baby rant about the American culture invasion is...well...a PhD student. And yet...here he is. It is truly amazing. This is a man that is one day going to be called Doctor, and he can't even resist watching Wedding Crashers or buying McDonalds. This all is very amusing!

i kno ur jus stateing a question hutch but it shouldnt even have been one u felt u needed to pose.. whats fake??? something that is not real in which one is trying to pass of as real. why on gods green earth would u apply that to something like slang? dont let anybody make u believe something that comes natural to you is fake, including slanguages..

Exactly Troll - I wasn't specifically asking for the one true definition of what's fake because it's all subjective - like that thread a while back asking what constitutes a bitch.
Shit happens Dirty, the whole world is undergoing a cultural invasion by the US and if they didn't like it they wouldn't allow it. I do not consider my statements to be in the 'cry-baby' category - I stated that "every country in the world is falling victim to the US, the culture-killers", and they are. You can't deny it. But if I didn't like American movies then I wouldn't watch them now, would I? Do you not remember in my previous post the specific sentence; "And yes, it's because you produce the best movies and TV"? Thus, I don't need to 'resist' watching Wedding Crashers as it is something I consciously chose to watch because I ENJOY IT.
Boo hoo. There are several aspects of your country that suck, that's why the US is the most hated country in the world. For the most part I enjoy your music and movies, and some of your TV shows are good (although I usually prefer British TV, something more familiar about it). Most of your people are nice too. Apart from that...

I'm sure Tadou and Dirty Shoez share the same views. Nor am I when I use the word 'ho' - it's part of my natural vocabulary, that is 'the real me'. I don't walk around saying shit like 'whats up homies?', or 'whats happenin dawg?', or 'Imma get hyphy and ghostride the whip' or whatever - if I did, then that would be fake because I don't normally use such language. And, to reiterate my previous statement, 'I do not wish to be American', I'm happy where I am.

Friend, if you are enjoying these things and working them into your life, and it is helping you in a positive way, then they are not killing your culture. They are enhancing it.
We no more "kill" cultures than Playstation "killed" Nintendo 64. It simply took the video game industry to the next level, the same way we routinely take other countries and regions to the next level.
If you don't like it, then keep playing your Mario Kart and keep quiet.
It's also the most known, the most powerful, the most resilient, the most inventive, and about 100 other titles. You act as if Hated is supposed to trump all of those.
