even though screw put so many songs by bay area cats on his tapes??
that's surprising?

and how is it the other way around? i mean, now the south is running the game but do people on the westcoast know about semi-major artists from the south?

I live in the south and I rarely hear stuff from the bay, but I live in Tennessee so that may be why. Most stuff ppl listen to is all southern artists, at least thats what i hear round my way.

I am defintely feeling the bay, heck i still have my N2DEEP Back to the Hotel cassette that was one of the first rap albums i got other than Cypress Hill's first album. That was all i would listen to back in the dayz i got to listen to Bay Area rap at the time it was starting to pop N2DEEP, E-40, The Click, Mac Dre (R.I.P.) those were the acts that were starting to pop at my time, and then i finally started getting into Kee, Yuk, Bo, Quinn, Mess, and now in dayz i am feeling the New Bay (as they so call it) as well i managed to buy the Jack Artist at a local mom and pop store for 1.85 BEST Buck Eighty Five i have spent i loved the album it reminds me to some extent of Pimp C's album Sweet James Jones story. All the beats are laid back, and the lyrics are tight as well as the features...i guess im with Thug on this one as well the YAY and H-Town are my favorite scenes, just my 2 cents of info......

It takes just 1 person to take a chance on a CD for stuff to pop on. I remember back in the day I was at Cat's and since I wanted to hear something new, I bought Brother Lynch Hung's "Season Of Tha Siccness". Played that damn thing everyday, went to the other side over a partner's house and while we were sitting on the porch, he had a radio in the window and was playing it. It started out with just us 2. 4 hours later, had about 18 people hanging out asking who it was. A few days later, you heard people playing the tape up and down the street all day. And keep in mind, this was in East Tennessee. Just by me playing it, I know he sold an extra 50-100 copies. Doesn't sound like much, but think if that happened in a bunch of hard to get into markets.
