i like south music, but whoever did that "ICY" song that just came out is pathetic. you aint got to have a dictionary-vocabulary when you rap, but c'mon now, ooh look at me im icy? there are only a few certian people who i feel have what it takes to just bragg on a track and get away with it.

dont let that down south drawl fool you. niggas got IQ, business IQ that is!
thats where the problem is. music is about art, not business. if theyve got business brains open a restaurant or run a drug cartel, but dont ruin what i have to listen to when i turn on the radio or watch music videos (i dont even bother anymore, cause ive realized its just about all garbage). but its not just the south. its hip hop in general, which has become a business or a means to attain the end of riches, which is not what its supposed to be about, and which of course if gonna dumb down the music.
thats why i cant agree when ppl talk shit about a rapper cause hes got no skills and then get criticized by others who say "dont hate, hes getting his money". i dont care how much money anyone makes, i strictly care for the skill in his music, and if hes got none, then ppl should be able to talk shit. these guys are ruining an artistic craft for money, and i think thats a problem

Man the West had their Shine. The East had their shine. Now the South has their shine. The tables will eventually turn once the listeners get tired of listening to the same style for an extensive amount of years. It's kind of like Political parties in the White House. The Democrats and Replubicans pretty much switch off the control for power every damn near decade in the White House. Shit happens. It's an evolution in a sense.

i disafree when i think hip hop the first thing that comes to my mind is spraypaint breakdancing backpacks timberlands mostly more concience rap. like those guys who were on the lyricist lounge show. when i think hip hop i think of poetry slams and beats with 2 kicks and a snare drum. know we all know that "hip hop" has a message but to me a lot of it seems overexagerated and stating the obvious while using played out metaphors and catch phrases. now thats all good but i dont think thats rap and i can not relate to back packs subway stations and kung foo flix exep (bruce). i think theres many types of rap and that is where the confusion lies you have people from all reigons using one genre to classify. i think the fact that new york is so obsessed with holding on the creater card that they are keeping the game from evolving. new york rap is new york rap and i do consider that hip hop but to use the idea of a new york song and try to classify everyone in the country according to your taste of rap is wrong. i think people should understand other music and stop using the hip hop card. in this country we have rock hard rock pop house country, seldom will you see a country fan at a house funtion. now in "hip hop" < so called) you have the same shit, many genres: east coast, downsouth, west coast, the mid, the bay. but certain individuals want to classify them all as hip hop. it aint gonna work. yes new york is the hip hop sound but dont say everyone needs to portray this timberland character to be a rap artist or be apart of your so called hip hop culture.

ps. the word hip hop is so ancient and played out if that was the name of my taste in rap i wouldnt want it. new york can keep hip hop
