That nigga 50 Cal always has to know some one personally or has to be right on some ones opinion. First of my dude these threads are 91.99% opinions............. That nigga C-Bo sold a mil nigga and thats that. ( Not even a Big C-bo Fan, So need for me arguing with you or you commenting back) You aint sit down wit him no where and if you did i guarantee that question of him selling a million records did not come up in the conversation. So 50 Cal stop it.
Learn to read i aint never said he aint sell no million...and you stating that these threads are based on opinions Im just giving mine..and yes I was at his house when he lived in Palmdale...big deal..Im just stating that yall believe everything you are told...and you saying Bo sold a mil and thats that....how do you know?, and yes I aint never brought up his sales because another mans finances aint none of my business..but you know thats that...

Slick aint too hard hes jus a new eminem diffrence is hes black and most major labels and white listeners cant handle wat he says because it comes out of a black mans mouth but its the truth.
hes knowledgable about wats goin on around him and not all his songs is about gangbangin and bitches (even though he has some) but he still has shit that has a message behind it a message that obviously the government and THE MAN dont want us as minorities to hear especialy when we're learning it from a known gangmember

all dudes need to do is keep making bad ass muzik. Your true fans and street katz are gonna buy shit they feel.

If all you know is the streets, I dont see anything wrong with rapping about it. That is your foundation and obviously your base (if you are writing about experiences).

You can change things around in your muzik to be more commerical, but you cant forget your roots. People that do forget where they came from get even more hate.
-------------

Collabos I feel are the best way to promote others and yourself. You make a dope song with features, it will carry on to the crowds that listen to a certain rapper or what not.

The problem is the 'niche' market that appreciates pure uncut rap music is what 10-20 percent of the music buyers? Most motherfuckers are slappin what they hear in the club the radio etcetera. I think Trigeration Station was the best shit ever and should be re released nationwide someday but I'm not over at Capitol or whatever calling shots and Mister Mainstream IS.

50cal is a lame. anyways I don't wanna see mitchy "blow up" and go mainstream cuz then he gotta water down his lyrics and make some catchy ass r&b jams for the white folks and teenage nerds cuz they the ones on itunes these days actually buying music they aint about to hit up the indoor swat meets for that real shit...

Him being to hard or not really doesn't matter. I'm starting feel that independent is the way to go homie, because the industry is changing and they really don't have a clue on what go music is. So it woud be nice to see Slick on a Jeezy or Rick Ross level but if it doesn't happen I don't feel like he lost out, he may actually end up in a better position in the long run. I think if your able to live comfortably and do what you love your already winning, So people should just start appreciating homie for his music whether it's mainstream or not. I think Glasses Malone is going to be a good test for how new artist from the West are recieved that aren't affilated with Dr.Cube. If he does well and I hope he does I think the Labels might start to believe in the West again.

and the thing about major is they will sign almost anyone but most artist gets put on the back burner or shelf far as them being releasesd due to teh poster/franchises(top sellers) artist of that label being catered to first. it is better to be independent if you wanna just hustle up make some quick money but better to be major if you want to make a career out of it and get endorsements and worldwide tours.

TRUE ENOUGH.. BUT WHEN YOU INDEPENDENT..YOU SEE A BETTER PERCENTAGE..BUT THE LABEL IS LIKE TURBO BOOST.. BUT WHAT IF YOU SIGN.. YOU STILL BE BROKE UNTIL SHIT IS ALL PAID FOR..

DATS WHY I SAY INDI IS ALWAYS THE BEST ROUTE.. JUS GOTTA HAVE A STRATEGIC MARKETING PLAN THAT CAN PROMOTE ALMOST LIKE THE MAJORS DO..

That's the exact same shit people were saying about The Game & I didn't see a big change out West cuz of his success.
The difference between game and malone is that Game had dre cosign. I don't really consider mack 10 a strong cosign to make you blow. Glasses is really going to do good based off the whole album being good or not. But if he doesn't it will be harder for him on his next release.

the truth!

I think having a street hits is what make an album blow up underground. Believe it or not, Mitchy is doing that and he is also having Daygo exposed as well. Whether is his homies or not, you start to see more daygo names and people start exploring the different artists thru myspace, forums, mixtapes...

thats a real good point homie. and i dont like to be negative at all but im not so sure glasses is a good test only because he doesn't remind me of a westcoast artist when i listen to him. granted, ive only heard a few songs, but that was enough to make me not wanna hear much more. niggaz on the west will be more prone to fuck wit him just cuz our numbers are so low right now and we need soldiers like glasses. but the first song i really sat and listened to him on was the one with him and akon. and i swear to you... i thought it was jeezy. real shit. i think it wasnt till i heard his name or something that i realized who it was. so.... that was a bad first impression for me.

but as far as respecting and enjoying a rapperz music whether they on tv or not... you right on with that homie.

only reason i think anybody even cares about makin it mainstream at a time like this is just for braggin rights... and also to step into other arenas like movies and clothes
