Couldn't be further from the truth.

Now if you ment rap music in general (not just gangsta rap) then I'd agree with you 100%.
Agreed...There are MANY bands and artists that may not get radio play but put out quality shit that still keeps me a FAN not just a DJ/Producer...Just gotta look further than you radio station/music network

yer all over the place with this post lol

But I hear ya...I think

btw u got Mac Dre in yer sig...What genre do u consider him in?
mac dre is hyphy music..

and i really dont like most hyphy music.

it has no flow 80% of the time.. sounds like they are trying to rap on drum/bass patterns that simply aren't there.

ALOT of mac dre's music is COMPLETELY whack to me. but the dope songs he does have are REAL dope. so it basically balances out. plus him as a person is cool as fuck from everything i've ever seen.

which can't be said about most of the "thugs" who simply try to brag about being tough........

who gives a fuck

I dont think Gangsta Rap's dead I just think Gangstas aint shit no more compared to the days of Old...Pac,Old E40,Celly,MacMAll,Old C-bo n Lynch....
Everybodys 2 focused on bein different/new n soundin like sum futuristic artistic shit and cuza a myspace n youtube you got all these weenie ass fools are breakin through cuz its 2 fuckin easy 2 get yr shit out 2 masses,n any fuckin loser who right rhymes n dresses like a college/richyrich with bling these days is Blowin up...aint no more REAL Gangstaz cuz aint no more REAL Hustle...its 2 watered down.
Everyone gets along these days cuza money....I remember when it was about bein a Gangsta n puttin it down...Real Game...you blew cuz ya had hustle now its jus kids n fake bloods sayin Swagger like its new!And gettin 2 kick it like its OK
And another thing is Gangsta Rap did play its self out 2 the Masses cuz everything was pimpin bitches n shootem up....n sombody like myself loved it but it couldn't appeal 2 someone like my mom cuz they dont wanta hear that shit every line.
And what it really comes down 2 is it's all about makin good music that everyone can listen to n hiphop has a higher potential a doin it than Gangsta Rap does.

gangster raps not dead, just rare. and if it WAS dead, someone could always revive it, its only music. we could bring back disco, funk, psychadelic rock, ect at any point we chose to. would it be the same? probably not, but thats because music reflects the energy and vibe of whats happening in the world around you, so if thats forced and unnatural, it wont be the same. but that doesnt necesarilly mean it will be bad music. my advice is to rap about whats really going on in the world around you, and if it happens to be gangster, then chances are people will relate. even if its not gangster, people will relate. just keep it real.

as long as niggas are still in the hood, gangsta rap will never die. right now that street shit isn't what's selling like it use to when every rapper you saw was a gangsta so you're not seein it on tv or on your radio. what's hot right now is that lil wayne type shit and that keyboard synth instant chart topper ft. a cheesy r&b singer and that 2009 barack obama is president racism is dead yes we can shit so you probably noticed all these niggas trying to copy it thinking it'll make them hot.

but i'm not hating on anyone cuz for most these people they're just trying to get paid. any way you can get some cash, go ahead and do it.

the truth is that hardcore shit will always come from the streets as long as reality is reality and that's just how life is. music trends will change but the hood will never change and one of the best things about rap music is that a lot of it is for the hood.
