The music game in general is pretty much slow motion but the N.W.A's, Low Profile, Spice1, Dj Quik, Second II None, Lynch Hung, Moss Maja, Kay9ine, Dogg Pound and many more are pretty much a wrap. Niggaz are rappin in skinny jeans wearing pink. I'm from the 80's when saggin and levis jeans was gangsta, now niggaz are rappin gangsta shit in skinny jeans, WOW!!!!

You make the call...

Gangsta rap started fizzling once myspace came around. How you gonna take a gangsta rapper seriously when hes makin "new songs up on itunes!" bullitens? Back in the glory days, the only thing you knew about your favorite rapper was what he put in cd booklet, and his songs. Now with myspace and twitter and all that, theres nothing left to the imagination

Funny how u snuck these niggaz names in like they are factors in the rap game....lol....Quik stopped doing gangsta rap a long ass time ago......Lynch music falls more under the horrorcore umbrella....And to answer this tired ass repetitive question...NO gangsta rap ain't dead cuz Mobb Music is still alive and Mobb Music is just Northern Cali's answer to gangsta rap.....Mitchy Slick, By Wy, Killa Tay, T-Nutty and others are all still gangsta and new niggaz like Nipsey Hussle, Trauma Unit and Cherry Chuck Gang prove that gangsta rap is still here and still tight.

its all about who YOU are listening to....

it sounds like you're listening to rappers whose following the trends instead of setting them...

mobb music is still around but niggas dont glorify all that street shit no more especially knowing them boys are listening...

anyways choose a better choice of music next time

Gotta agree with this....My brother is always bumping shit from the 90's(Which is cool) and always hollering he can't find good music cuz everything is wack.....I don't have much problem finding good music or even good gangsta rap cuz I take the time to search long and hard for good music instead of relying on the radio or the Tv to tell me what's hot when 99% of the time its not.

i think its liteweight dead since most people listening to gangsta rap these days are the farthest thing from gangstas.

plus, no disrespect to anyone in specific, but theres a lot of good gangsta rappers who are talented emcees and then a helluva lot more gangstas that rap. which is cool by me, but i'd rather hear rap that reflects the story of G'z in the struggle and has a message behind the music rather then just some nigga goin on and on about how he'll kill you and fuck your bitch and slang rocks in your mommas driveway on every damn song. that shit was cool when Eazy E was doin it but now niggas need to get a lil more creative.

i dont think so, maybe im wrong tho. but to me it seems like hip hop started in urban communitites strictly for urban communities.. shit like NWA, and kool G rap, hugh EMC, Cougnut.. songs like 'fuck the police' and 'skanless' dealt with shit that was really going on in the hood but as soon as mainstream labels started seeing the appeal that music had they put the money behind that type of music to push it in other communities in the suburbs and middle america. but i aint even talkin just about mainstream shit, a lot of kids are crazy for the underground independent gangsta rap coming out.

so nowadays you can walk down any given street in petaluma or sebastapool and you might see a car fulla white girls bumpin Jacka or sumthin.

I just remember back in the 80's when I seen concert footage of NWA and I seen hella white peopl in the crowd....White kids are the most rebellious mothafuckas in this country so it didn't take long for them to embrace gangsta rp but I hear what u saying though.

There will ALWAYS be room for underground artists...Whether that means gangsta, backpack, horrorcore etc. etc......90% of the people on the radio today won't be there in 5 years whereas underground artists have more longevity since they REALLY connect to their fanbase and don't sell-out.....Just my 2 cents

^^ Fuck most rap PERIOD! But aint nothin greater than gangsta shit for my ears tho. It help me keep from bein an angry young nigga cause it always helped calm me down. Basketball, C-Bo, E-40, Spice 1, and the Chicago Bulls helped my mental state when i was a teen.
