"I'm just saying he's not as honored or appreciated as the other legends because he is used as a jobber gimmick wrestler now so they don't take him seriously"

First lets talk about a gimmick wrestler.... the Iron Sheik is a walking talking gimmick that is only used by the WWE for GIMMICK MATCHES. When Iron Sheik isnt being used by WWE he is STILL WORKING INDI MATCHES AT $50 A FUCKING POP!

Iron Sheik is just a sad story at this point in time and if you watch any interview with any current wrestler they will tell you just how sad he really is.

To say that Slaughter isnt respected because they use him(who is an office employe for wwe) once every few years in a fun little gimmick match it just insane. Nothing is wrong with putting over the younger guys and for that simple fact he gets even more respect.

So please..... just stop talking about wrestling because I am sure the next thing you say will be just as stupid

I'm saying the fans who watch it don't take him seriously because whenever they see him in a match, they know he is gonna lose and get his ass beat after.

Backstage he is well respected, but he is not too respected by these young fans who pay to see the younger superstars, and it's good that he's putting them over but he puts to many people over, so you really don't gain much from viewers cause legends are always used to put over young superstars when we wanna see young superstars prove themselves by having a match against other young superstars who are at the same level instead of reducing a legend to a lower level.

And Slaughter's military gimmick may be from his real life military experiences but it is still a gimmick as well as Sheik's gimmick. This thread isn't about Slaughter any way it's about the Iron Sheik and his flamming interviews on youtube, so can we get back on subject, if you wanna go bitch about Slaughter, please do it in the Sports Entertainment forum.

I never said I don't respect, I'm just sayin when you see slaughter come out to the ring, your pretty much gonna except him to lose. Maybe respect isn't the right word.

My expectations are lowered cause I pretty much know he's gonna lose, I've watched wrestling all my life and I've even bought DVDs of old school wrestling from every promotion I could pick up at the time, so I'm not gonna stop watching wrestling because some nobody dosen't agree with my views on some superstars

Slaughter is the saddest legend, his career was ruined by being reduced to a jobber
Understandable. But lets look at this logically. Slaughter is in his 60s, and they still put him in the ring with people half his age and in better shape than he was at any time in his life. People who could out perform him athletically. The only reason he gets any offense on these dudes is because he is a legend and did so much for the wrestling biz. Him getting in the ring is for novelty and nostalgic purposes. Maybe in Vince's eyes, having a younger guy be put over by a vet means something. And maybe it doesn't. But to me when I watch it, all i see is the same thing they do with hacksaw Jim Duggan. Use it to get a cheap pop and further another story line.

If you're lookin for some real good old school, try some stuff from the mid south area.

theres a vid I made from an awesome flair vs. DiBiase match.
