for all you would know about it it is. This is no surprise and the only thing to be expected from a dictatorship. The battle in Baghdad will be bloody. The Iraqi government has probably killed more civialns since the war started as the US (if not more) and will continue this strategy as it's the same strategy thats kept them in power for 30 years. All Iraqi military and goon squads "death squads" will occupy all outer edges and streets in all directions into Baghdad and will hold Iraqi civilians on lockdown. Any and all Iraqi able men not willing to fight will have they're familys executed PERIOD. ( as has already happened.) This will cause a humanitarian disaster and public opinion will be anti-US ( even though it's on the Iraqis in the first place.) This will drag the war on as they will continue to wear civilian and/or U.S./British uniforms and occupy themselves and fight in public buildings and hospitals (as they already have) where there are many civilians to avoid bombs.
The trade off is this, we will win whenever, however. There is no way we can afford to leave with that regime in power politically and morally. The question is at what cost? It's either gonna short and ugly or long and bloody. If we continue this suicidal trend of doing everything possible to avoid civilian lives the war will be MUCH longer with many US casualtys. We cant win a politically correct war. Theres no such thing, but we're as close as you can get to it.We can firmly put the fist down and handle it with more civilian deaths but a quick victory, yet more resentment from atheist, haters and Muslims. I think we need to put it down and be done with it.
