HW Bush followed UN resolution word for word. which only gave him the authority to kick sadam out of Kuwait and NOT to follow him into Iraq.

Personally i too wish he had listened to Paul Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld and Cheney and gone in to take him out.

^^^Remember, it's perfectly fine to do things like gassing the kurds as long as you are an ally of the U.S, which Saddam was up until he invaded Kuwait, which really was more of a misunderstanding since our ambassador to Iraq, April Glaspie, knew about the invasion and gave the green-light to Saddam so, eh.
