if you cant tell what phone you got or what firmware to get you dont deserve an iphone. my shit has downloaded it 2 times from apple then at the end i get a network server timed out error

i think it might be becuase my phone wasnt connected on edge network. (1st gen).

yeah, i got the first gen iphone 8gb. im eligble for an upgrade but i think ima wait til next summer. lots of the rumors didnt happen. the difference to 1st to 3g was a lot. but from 3g to 3g s is minimial. that means that from 3g s to the next 4th gen should be pretty big. OLED screen, more memory. cheaper maybe even colors or something different. new design too.

so i think ill just wait.

actually the difference from the 1st to the 3G was not that big, other than the look of it. Only the fact that it has 3G connectivity. This is why I sold my 3G for like $800 on ebay after having it for 7 days...I don't always need high speed. Then I bought it again when Best Buy had it for sale for $150 and my original iPhone broke.

The difference between the 3G and 3G S is bigger because the guts are different. The processor is 600 Mhz and it has 256MB ram. (2G and 3G have 400Mhz and 128MB Ram) and they have the 32GB one now. there are comparison videos out there showing that the 3G S is faster and the internet even runs quicker. Also the video recording is a big step up, and the compass is pretty tight, I could see myself using that when im travelling looking for directions.

Only thing stopping me from upgrading is the thought that they might releasing something way better next summer and I'd be assed out or pay more.

I'm upgrading mine friday to 3GS from 2G for $199.00 if you have a 2G thats all it is to upgrade and I'm gonna sell my 2G on craigslist or ebay for more than that do your research some 2G's regularly go for over $400.00 bucks

I downloaded my shit at about 1:30 yesterday. Not really that impressed, except for the landscape mode.

I look like I have Parkinsons walking to the corner store shaking the fuck out of my phone trying to shuffle the songs.

LOL...havent tried the shuffle thing yet....Yea not that impressed so far with the new upgrade except for the landscape, and for the fact that i can cuss my wife out and send her an audio email for her pleasure! :)
