LAS VEGAS, NV – Antoine Hodges is lucky to be alive after he was shot in the stomach by a police officer in a case of mistaken identity. “All I remember was me yelling at him, “I’m not your suspect. I know for sure I’m not your suspect,” Hodges said. He said he panicked when he saw the officer pull a gun on him and backed away, trying to calm the policeman down. When he reached behind him with his right hand to put his money away, Officer Jason Evans fired one shot right into his guts.

“There was no warning. He just fired,” Hodges said. The officer had mistaken his identity for another suspect in a homicide case. His lawyers filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Officer Evans, Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie and the Metropolitan Police Department. One lawyer said, “He was confronted with a police officer with his gun drawn in ready-fire mode. At that point in time Antoine did not face a situation where an officer was trying to find out information, but had made a determination to fire.”

Evans was placed on routine, paid administrative leave pending a criminal review by the Clark County District Attorney’s office and an internal review.

Jeeze another anti police thread. We all know there are piece of shit cops that only got the job to abuse their position of authority, this is old news. but there are decent men and women that are just doin their job too. Like it or not, police are a necessary part of society. To make a blanket statement about every person in a single profession is using the same logic as racism

I doubt there's any actual cops on here but there's a lot of ex military dudes and that's kinda the same thing. Military is just government police. That life ain't for me but I don't hate those that make it work for them

thats right, in order to enjoy rap music or the hip hop culture one must scream fuck the police and authority in any and all situations

i am not a cop nor would i want to ever be one...its a dangerous career choice and it takes a special person to actually do the job and do it well..

RIP to this man especially ...quite possibly the greatest cop i ever met

and if you dont know about him do some research and find out what he's done for the community

Breh everyone's brain is not wired the same, we are not cattle. The cop had no right to step like that pistol drawn ready to fire on that man and fire with zero evidence of anything. Should he not have put his wallet in his back pocket at that time? Hindsight is 20/20. This man was caught completely off guard and the major factor of that is because he was completely innocent and doing nothing wrong. Let a pig surprise you with a pistol with money or whatever in your hand and lets see what you do. Maybe these pigs need to work on their training a little and stop treating law abiding citizens as target practice. Unbelievable that so many people have the trigger happy police back. If any of you ever did dirt I bet you snitched your "homies" out smh His rights were violated plain and simple.
