If you hate the radio so much, why the fuck do you keep listening to it?
My old work van had no tape or CD deck. Riding around all day listening to an engine gets old. I like sports talk and occasionally I'll take a walk up the dial to see if there's anything nice on. 9 times out of 10 I'm disappointed.

I'm not sure exactly as to what point you're trying to get across by asking a simple question like that. I'm sure there's an infinite number of other possibilities as to why people don't particularly care for FM programming but still find themselves tuning in. And I'm sure you're a relatively smart guy to think of a few.

for me the radio isnt about the hatred of mainstream music, its just so damn repetitive.i wouldnt mind hearing a certain mainstream song as long as i didnt have to hear it every 7 minutes...hip hop radio stations these days have like 10 songs in their rotation

Maybe because people don't hate the radio for that reason. I'd lean more towards the fact people hate the radio because they will play a shitty sounding single in a playlist and keep playing it until it becomes a huge hit. Even "Mezmerize" by Ja Rule got hella spins before Ja's career collapsed. I dare you to call that a quality record.

I'm not upset that they're playing that instead of underground artists...I'm upset because they play shitty music and morons like you just say "Oh well, that new Nelly/Tim Mcgraw song is soooooo gansta in the cluuuub. At first I didn't liiiiiiike it but I heard it in the club so now I dooooo."

since u are sooo "upset", u tell us what they SHOULD play on the radio to make u listen to it ? i think the radio kinda caters to more than the people on just this message board......
