ANAHEIM ROB- hahha why do you have a re-entry code 4 on your dd214? i was just discharged on a 14-12c commission of a serious offense, 4 as well. what brach of service were you in? i was army.
I was a nuclear electrician in the Navy. Overseas I was getting into some trouble and got into a few fights with some foreigners(and superiors) and when it came down to going to rehab I told them to fuck off. Shit was going bad anyways, I wasn't agreeing with my superiors on why we were in the Persian Gulf and I spent 8 months in the Middle East and I was about to get new orders to another command that was about to head right back over there, so I saw the chance to get out and I took it. By refusing rehab and anger management they gave me a General (Under Honorable) with an RE-4. I'm actually in the process of attempting an upgrade with help from the American Legion, but I'm not expecting shit. What the fuck did you do for a 14-12C?

In the position I'm in right now i'm very tempted to go back into the service. No job, can't get unemployment till july, might have to leave my house cuz i'm not on the lease, no way to pay rent, no where to stay..fuck it I'll go over there and take my problems out on some insurgents and get a fat check every 2 weeks. Don't get it twisted those cats get paid pretty nice out there, tax free, danger pay etc the rank i was when i left 2 years ago i'd probably be making close to 6 figures. I was in the navy anyways, i won't see no combat unless i was a seabee, a seal or on the bomb squad which i'm not

anaheim- i did basic at ft. sill (the second time around, the first time i did it at ft. leonard wood in 2005). anyhow went to ft. bliss afterwards to do AIT and wouldnt you know, its ten minutes from juarez. one thing led to another and next thing you know im pissing hot for cocaine. since that happened i lost my security clearance (i was supposed to be a 14T patriout missile launch station operator/maintainer.) and they were gonna re-class me to 88M (truck driver) but i couldnt get my license because of my unpaid bullshit back here in california with the dmv from a high speed chase i was in. so then they were gonna make me a 92R parachute rigger. i was juiced about it and was waiting to get reclassed to ft. benning where i was to go to jump school and rigger school. in the mean time i got into a fight and beat this guys ass and since i struck first they got me for assault, now ive got 2 field grade article 15's under my belt and they cant take anymore rank, only take money and give me more extra duty on top of the 45 days. then the colonel outta nowhere says "he cant trust me to go to benning cause im a liability, and if i cant be an 88M then my other option is discharge". so im in the same boat as you, general under honorable conditions with possible upgrade to fully honorable (which i thought was through the VA)

Damn..sounds like they put you through some shit, they sure know how to make someone's life hell if they want. I ended up going to Captain's Mast, they took half my pay for a month, 45 days extra duty and 15 days in the brig... But yeah, your discharge might be through the VA since you were Army, but mine's through the Naval Discharge Review Board. The American Legion is just an organization that will represent me in my case for free. Since all Navy cases are based in D.C. and not many people can afford to go out there to plead their case, the American Legion offers their help for free so I couldn't pass that shit up. I recently got a docket case number so my case should be up for review very soon. Good luck on yours though, I heard they don't like to overturn discharges very often, but it's worth a shot.

Shit don't matter, the military don't help you when your in and they damn sure don't when your out. I did 6 years, never got in trouble once got hella medals and commendations for what? To not be able to get a decent job on the outside? Its pure bullshit, I did all this shit for nothing it seems like. I feel like I'm in the same position i was in when i joined. Employers don't even look at my past experience out here, its crazy

Its also pretty funny how I flipped my position from earlier in the thread too haha. I did good in the military though, got promoted quickly even if i was overlooked on evaluation boards and shit because I'm smart and can do well on their tests cuz I knew my job and knew all their stupid military customs and shit. I was never the type to kiss anyones ass though, I worked hard enough that i didn't have to. Fact is though, they don't give a fuck about you in there. They will send you into danger while they are flying from base to base, ship to ship etc to give hoorah speeches. Its all politics and when your in you can't say shit about not agreeing with why we are over there. You wouldn't believe the bullshit they put in peoples heads when they are over there
