Usually, all they have to do is give him a chance... just FUCKING LISTEN to what hes saying... this dude is writing some shit dudes wish they could write..

My boy Dede was basically hating on Tech for the longest.. wouldn't even listen to tracks id play for him.. (hes more into that old school mobb deep shit) Then finally, after listening to a playlist of Tech on an ipod he was completely blown away.. he realised how fucking sick dude is... NOBODY writes a verse like Tech.. no one puts that kind of effort into every verse and every album..

To me and everyone I know now Tech is the GROAT

I think tech nine is for deep listeners or people who have a love for the music. Cause lyrically he is ridiculous, his flow is crazy and the beats he uses are always good. Tech said in a interview that he writes music that he likes and doesn't write to please others he just writes from the inside so the people that arent feelin his shit just dont' have a mind that works like alot of ours.

[...] even some people who I generally think have decent taste in music STILL don't like tech. People who understand multis and rhyme structure somehow just skim over his shit. His vocabulary, his heart, his energy is just too much for some I guess...

I used to argue with people over this shit back in the day, but as i've grown up I tend to just laugh at peoples pure stupidity. It just boggles me mayneeee
It all comes down to a difference of opinion as to what makes music good and also as to what makes "a good rapper". A lot of people who are "real Hip-Hop heads" who don't like Tech's music just don't think that what he does is all that good. Can't hate on them for that, and I don't think it makes them stupid either.

It's not about who has the better stats (music shouldn't be reduced to the level of a trading card game) it's about what sounds good to the individual. If I was to look at things in terms of the factors that you mentioned (vocabulary, rhyme structure, heart, etc) then, for example, it would seem clear to me that Pharoahe Monch, Aesop Rock, Scarface and 2Pac are all great, because all the parts are there. Truth is I happen to think that for the most part 2Pac and Aesop Rock make crap music.

Much like you it boggles my mind to hear people say they think he isn't good but the fact is that Tech N9ne, as good as he may be on paper, just genuienly doesn't do it for some people.

I agree. I don't think if tupac was alive today people would say he is the greatest but anyways everyone has an opinion and some people are too close minded to listen to anything else

I disagree with you Yang on the Tech statement... I honestly believe that the people who hate on Tech or who just dont listen to him, just arent giving him a chance.. EVERY person I know, who likes rap, loves Tech.. it took some time for certain people to break down and actually listen.. but after that, they knew what the deal was.

I find it crazy that you think pac makes crap music.. but hey thats your opinion.. I think that if youre a fan of rap in general, not some narrow minded person who reps a certain rapper because hes from New York or whatever.. then you should dig Techs music. Its hard, creative, innovative and theres little to criticize.. great beats, deep lyrics, catchy hooks, incredible flow, and interesting topics.. only thing is his image.. and I dont mean the red hair, thats long gone.. but who he affiliates with really matters to some people...

I don't know how all of us see techs skill and so many others just don't.
I simply gave up giving a shit.

I've reached the "I'm actually happy that Tech is still kind of 'my' thing" status by now. As dick as that sounds, I put in my work.

it is like everything in life. fine food, fine wine. not everyone is sophisticated enough or has the right taste to appreciate quality.

Yea I suppose that's accurate and sums it up as a whole..

but yang, I completely understand what your saying, but still none of those artists you mentioned do any of the high-enery, switch up shit.. like I have yet to hear an artist do some God complex type shit and sing every other line.

Even on that new Saute song or whatever, at like the 12th bar tech totally changes up his voice and flow..

So kinda reiterating here, I don't get mad or think someone is stupid if they just don't listen to him. I guess I'm just confused in general haha..

I'm not one of the hardcore tech nut riders.. but I understand why there is so many as a whole.. because he is one of a kind and people like to cling to that.. like zero media basically said ^

Most people have pretty much already summed up my thoughts on this whole subject but I guess Ill just throw in 2 more cents of mine...

I am also to the point where I just stopped givin a fuck and if you like em you do if you dont, than you dont. I can understand for someone to listen to his shit and be like ya he is alright, but hes just not for me. Fine cool, but those that can with a straight face say Tech sucks and aint worth a shit. Blows me away every time as well. How you can hear his music and hate it, will forever boggle my mind.

But myself, along with alot of you, just need to come to the realization that this world has just become so customized to just liking things simple and quick that MOST will never look beyond the beat and the chorus anymore. Thats really all it is. Any really big hit out there has a catchy beat and a good hook. There is no bigger proof of that than to see 39 MILLION FUCKING PEOPLE learn and post their videos on youtube of them doing the Soulja Boy dance. Its rediculous. But it is true and it wont change.

It doesnt matter to me that Tech isnt on TV and on the radio. But I know it matters to him and thats what I will never get over. That he wants to be out there in the limelight so bad, but he is never going to be. And only a handful of people truly appreciate what Tech is capable of. Thats what is so dissapointing about it. And that he can spend 20 fucking years struggling to make that happen, but yet a 19 yr old kid can post a fucking video on a internet site and 1 year later passes Tech by leaps and bounds. Thats the bullshit that really gets to me...

Wish things were different, but they arent. But U know what Tech aint got it bad, he makes good money, has a family that hopefully he can come home to one day and he has a pretty good career considering...

I honestly think its most major rappers that keep him down too. Cuz noone will fuck with him. If Lil Wayne or Jay Z or Luda or Kanye or Jeezy or any of them bitches would put Tech on their shit, alot of Techs situation would change. But they wont cuz they know Tech will eat em up...
