Street Level Radio is kinda boring and unimaginative. Since Street Level eludes to keeping your ear to the streets, I would call it "The Pavement".

You've just touched down on "The Pavement".....Keep ya ear to the streets: SLR presents "The Pavement"....You've just hit "The Pavement".....those are some sweepers I would use, of course adding the station I.D. at the beginning or the end.

Hmmmmm.....interesting. Somethin' to think about.......

Yeah....I'm not feeling the Street Level Radio either. I would like somethin' that is representative of the NW.......I can't really think of shit though.

Thanks for all the input everybody.

The radio show should mos def have freestyle battles, live in person, as well as over the phone. We need a show that takes it back to hip hop and plays underground music as well as commerical. The problem with that is, if it's a REAL radio show, you have to generate income from thin air (advertising) by having a huge listening base. People want to listen to radio friendly songs and if you play too much garbage underground music (people who suck, not saying underground is garbage, obviously) they won't listen. So you have to introduce the hip hop element over time as you build a fan base. I'd like to see battles by DJ's and Emcees, the playing of hot underground music and the hottest commerical music. I mean hot shit, not just the latest piece of shit single by so and so. There needs to be a news team that reports what's going on in the hip hop world... maybe a rumor mill about commerical rappers, that shit is comedy.
Yeah, but no radio would play the bottom of the underground, it has to be I'll right, otherwise it doesn't diserve radio play...

define the bottom of the underground... we're all underground, can we go lower? hehe, if it's pleasing to the ear and doesn't involve too many swears then it can be played on the radio. i'm not talking about playing whack tracks where cats can't even flow. those people aren't emcees, they're developing emcess and until such 'time' that they can keep it over a beat... nobody will give two shits about them. but if they're hungry and they learn and there skills continue to grow, they will get noticed and can touch down on 'The Pavement'... It gives the stuggling emcee something to shoot for. Having your track played once on Kube takes skills, a little bit of money, charisma and finesse... but if you shoot D-Sane/Skunt your dopest track every 3 months and they play it and you're already known to have skills during the freestyle phone battles, they're going to play your shit... most emcees I know are in it for the music so there is a certain sense of validation to here your music played over the air waves regardless of what station it is. Ya dig?

No doubt, I feel you.

When I say bottom of the underground I mean the skills and moves that have been made by an artist. Cause the underground is the underground right. D-Sane and Skunt aren't gonna pick some wack rapper out of the bunch and showcase them or play their music, they would pick artists that actually have something going for themselves, that don't got the shine they diserve... the hungry mother fuckers.... that have earned it, you know.

ex.

YAH, Ima RAPPER, I freeSTYLE with MY FRIENDS at SCHOOL, and I don't perform and oh? who is that? I didn't know there was good hiphop in the NW, huh? Oh btw, I record my vocals with a mic my sister gave me, it goes with the fisher price kareoke machine I use.

or

No doubt, I've been writing and performing for 2 years, I've done shows for this cat, and performed here several times, im truly a NW prospect. I don't got allot of money but I work hard everyday and strive towards my goals one step at a time, much respect.

Both are completely unknown artists, who would you choose? :)

I know it's a basic point, but there has to be a serious haulting point of to what D-Sane and Skunt showcase and play from the underground, example obove...

You know..

I'm not very original so dont laugh :) but "Da Undaground" would be alright..

Since Street Level is making this happen something incorporating the words "Street" or "Level" would be cool too..
