Man.......I started on a Alesis HR-16a, a Casio CZ-101, 2 Techinic 1200's (it's amazing what you can find in the back of vans late at night....lol) with a Numark mixer, an actual Radio Shack mic and a tape deck back in 1990.

I would midi up the CZ-101 to the HR-16 and use it for 808 type bass or some synth sound. Then I would find my favorite NWA sample for scratching purposes (usually for the hook area), hit record on the tapedeck, then my homeboys would bust their rhymes. We had to do it all in one take......if I fucked up on my scratchin' or they messed up while spittin'.....we would have to start all over again. That was LOADS of fun.....lol. Thank god for multi-track recorders!

Ahhhh......the good ol days.

D-Sane I COMPLETELY feel u man...I remember double cuttin samples over a drum track I had already recorded twice already....To make ONE beat it took like 8 hours in my hot ass attic....But I enjoyed those days SO much and am THANKFUL I started out that way cause it made me appreciate so much MORE what I have today and also made me more inventive

lol....no. It was a joke. I was hoping that all the newbies that don't know who I am or my resume would start tryin' to clown so I could rip them a new asshole. But apparently nobody fell for my evil plan. Damn. Now I'll just have to go rip on some people in my forum or the NW forum......lol
