OH YES!!! The skilled "producer" who all the sudden thinks he knows how to use my keyboard sits down fuking around. Im watching very closly with fear he might get into disk mode. Then all the sudden he yells "uhhh record this!!" i get into sequence mode and record his little boom clap boom boom clap. Then he starts screaming and jumping around. Then he tells me to record his little piano loop AND HE CANT GET IT RIGHT. He keeps fuking up. So i do the little loop FOR HIM. And he aks me to ad bass. Then all the sudden he's getting me to do his little beat for him. So know you've got melodies and strings and all this time i put into it and its still over A CRAPPY ASS OFF DRUM PATTERN which he created. So fukit i change it and he says THATS ILL. Now he goes and gets his homies and says
"peep this track I just made" !!!!!!!!

AMEN! I'm gonna be real honest with you.... I CAN NOT FUCKIN STAND WORKING WITH PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW THEIR WAY AROUND A STUDIO. And I absolutely ***HATE*** when someone stands over me and is like 'what are you doing? what does this do? what if I pushed that?'. Over the years I've gone from being real patient about that shit to almost zero-tolerance.

Some people are just not cut out for certain jobs and at some point, if a cat ain't getting...man, admit that and leave it alone!

HELL NO! i wasnt even CHARGING these cats and im giving em so much game for free. game they would have to PAY for im giving it to them for free. i let them have FREE ACCESS to everything in my home studio. free access, AND SOMETIMES I WOULD LEAVE THE ROOM OR LEAVE THE HOUSE PERIOD SO THEY WOULD FEEL COMFORTABLE. you can use any sound you want,use any drum machine or module,use the computer etc etc etc. did they CAPITALIZE and make the best of it? HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! i had my neighbors telling me "you need to start back to making your own music because whoever that is sounds like crap". so guess what i did? pulled the cats to the side on a one on one basis and told them the TRUTH. the PUBLIC wasnt feeling it and i wasnt feeling it. we cant continue this. mind you this WASNT the first time i had to pull em to the side and tell em to straighten up. I used to let people come in but I outgrew thinking it was 1) cool to show off the gear and 2) realized that you can either work on stuff that doesn't have any chance in hell or stuff that might. Plus it got old trying to teach people how to produce and enginner...without pay! LOL

^Good shit Everybody. I hate that shit when peeps have to stop the session to call up their "homies" or Sum Girls just to say "whatz up...Oh, I;m just chillin' at the studio, puttin' it down" And Most the time their productivity is close to Zero.
Lately I haven't been doin' any beats or raps with any of the homies, they all just waste my time. For vocals, If someone is ready to throw down the lyrics, Meaning that they have it memorized, or are ready to rap it( I din't care if you use your lyric sheet or whatever). Then I consider havin' them record at my pad.
But I hate havin' people over, and they just sit there and write their raps "Dude, can you replay that part again", Dude, can you replay that part over again?" Itz like if you gonna waste my Free time, (and it is usually free for the homies) you'd better be ready to spit that shit and leave(or blaze up some bomb)

check this out. i live in a town about 25000 population wise. there are 2 other towns same exact size within spitting distance north and south of here, and I am the only person around here that does this shit (that i know of) and EVERYBODY AND THERE MOMMA (LITERALLY!!!) COMES THROUGH WITH THAT SHIT, I CAN SING, I CAN RAP. HERES A TIP, THIS HAS WORKED WELL FOR ME. MY DOOR HASNT BEEN KNOCKED ON IN MONTHS. IF YALL ARE LIKE ME YOU GOT EXTRA MUSICIANS FRIEND, GUITAR CENTER, ETC.... CATALOGS LAYIN AROUND. I CIRCLE GEAR I NEED AND SEND THEM OUT TO GET IT. Theres 3 types of sessions. A jam session (if you are lucky enough to have musicians), a writing session and a recording session.

DO NOT come to a recording session unprepared! KNOW YOUR VERSES FORWARDS & BACKWARDS. HAVE -ATLEAST- AN IDEA OF WHAT YOU WANT TO DO IN THE CHORUSES & AD-LIBS!!!! There are certain beats that do not leave my studio no matter what but most of the time, whoever should have the instrumental, does. USE IT. Figure out your parts and PRACTICE. Thats WHY you have the instrumental man!

I don't mind if people come in and need to read off a paper. Just don't come in with absolutely no clue as to what you want to do. Lyrics half written. Shit like that. I can't stand that whether I'm getting paid to be there or not. I like to be productive. You know, feel like you are getting something accomplished instead of in there acting like you don't know what the fuck you're supposed to be doing.

BTW, today was a great day for me musicially. Started bangin it out at about 10am. Wrapped up at 11pm. I am 100% finished hearing music for the day but as much as we got done, I ain't complainin'.
