quit ya bitchin, the yankees make a billion dollars a year, theyve won 36 championships, if theyre not spending money theyre not the yankees. it doesnt even have to equal championships (theyve spent a ton of money every year and dont win the world series every year). it'll be fucking sweet when they dont win.

Co fucken sign! I swear some people are dumb as fuck in this forum. We would kill in northern cal to have a organization that actually went out and did whatever it took to win unlike the niners, giants, raiders, athletics, warriors, kings. The yankees have hella fans and make hella money why should they suffer if they got the money fuck it. You rather have a team like the tampa rays that suck dick for four years straight snd draft really well and then make a run for the world series. In NYC losing is not an option! To bad we can't say that about bay area teams.

Close thread!

A lot of teams say "FUCK THE YANKEES" for spending a shitload of money but have no problem cashing the check that they get from the Yankees spending so much. Fuck it, it's good for baseball cause it generates interest. If you're a player or fan, how could you be mad at a front office that doesn't care how much they spend when all they're trying to do is win. I hate the Yankees, but I love the fact that they don't put a price on winning.

thats irrelevant because theres a salary cap in football. Wasnt that what the strike was about in 1994? The players got there way and now its not a even level playing field more then ever, I hate the Yankees more then any team in any sport.

I just hate that small market teams like the A's or Devil Rays or any small market team brings up any star players and they cant keep them past there fisrt contract because teams like the yanks throw hundreds of millions of $ contracts at them. Only would like a salary cap to keep star players on small markets teams more long term giving these small market teams a longer chance to compete for a championship. Give thef fans something to be happy about not everybody wants to be a yanks fan just cuz all the big names are over there. Would just even the league out some not a perfect fix all but would be a step in the right direction.

bullshit!

Yanks are clearly killing baseball and the media is just now starting to realize it too. AJ Fuckin' Burnett is getting a $16 million/year contract....thats right AJ FUCKIN' BURNETT! dude has only had 1 good year and rest were average, he did outstanding last season because he knew it was a contract year. I dont give a shit if the Yanks win or lose, its the fact that they throw around large contracts like its nothing. Now every mediocre player in the game today will see that if Burnett can get a contract like that they can too! In turn driving up ALL players prices meaning small market teams won't be able to keep their prized players unless they go in the red doing it. The Yankees and about 5 other teams have the abiltiy to go out there and buy up positions that their farm system is lacking, small market teams can't do that! They have to get lucky and draft GREAT and try to plug in a few good players in FA and trades to compete now days. When those players start to show some promise the big market teams just sit back and wait because they know the small market teams can't pay EVERY good player they have. While the Yanks and other teams just lurk in the background waiting to pay them outrageous amounts of money like its nothing.

Burnett has been consistantly above average over his career when not injured...his jump in salary isn't that great either as he already made $12/13 million this year..

People are mad cuz the Yankees always sign their favorite players. Mine being CC, but money talks.

AJ Burnet is overrated and CC will probably choke in the playoffs again. Pitching in the AL is tough, but if he can't come through during the playoffs the fans will chew him out.

consistently above average?

more like consistently average. dude has had only 1 good season and that was last season, all his other seasons hes been either under .500 or just barely above it by a couple of games. last year was the only time hes won more then 12 games in a season plus he racked up alot of losses along the way aswell.

he is in no way shape or form worth 16 million a year, the only team that would pay him that kind of bread is the team that actually did it.

FUCK THA YANKEES AND THEIR HOLIER THAN THOU ATTITUDE!

Wins aren't a good way to measure how good a pitcher is...his best year's (statistically) have been 2002 followed by 2005,2004,2007...
