Not really. It's just a matter of reading, reading, reading...and more reading. You also gotta disrespect your computer(s) along the way. As long as you don't fry your mother board...the hard drive is replaceable. That's how I learned. A little school helped, but I never graduated from any of em. My first computer class was in 1987.

Technology in general is just fun to me, and Doberman is right about reading. Your best teacher is yourself, "computer classes" nowadays don't teach you anything you can't learn on your own. I didn't get into computers until 1999 when I had to serve detention in the library, some nerds were playing Half Life and that was my begininng. 7 years of self teaching of graphic design and in pursuit of my BS in Computer science, I stand before you motherfuckers.
