u know theres a format even more pure than flac right?
either way flac n shit is way too much space. no1 needs a 100mb track lol
What do you mean "more pure?"
Edit:
My biggest song is Octavarium by Dream Theater:
24 minutes, 924kbps - Flac level 8, and 158MB. It's a whole mp3 album and a half.

not 100% clear or w/e cause my memory is always hazy but in the last year or two theres a different format higher than flac. seen songs that are like 400mb each. and albums from like metallica and tool lets just say a gig or higher for one album lol

There's always been WAV which is raw audio, and supports bitrates up to CD Quality which is something like 1,411kbps.

the sample rate must be greater than or equal to 2*fmax or you will be able to hear the gaps.

and i thought photonics class was a waste of time.
That's the only way I can imagine a lossless audio file size would increase. If I'm not mistaken, CD audio is 16 bit, 44.1 kHz. Extracted DVD audio is 24 bit, 192 kHz.
Is DVD audio as DTS or DD compressed though? I think DD only goes up to 640 kbps for 6 channels. Wouldn't that negate the benefits of the higher sample rate?

Yeah, I have this but my dumbass converted the mp3s to 96kbps a long time ago when for some reason I liked making my files smaller... Please PM me a link too! :)
