Who are "they"? When you say "they" are you referring to the C.F.R and T.L.C owned media? Or referring to the american government? Could you please clarify something for me? Are you implying that "they" want us to believe that "they" are spreading peace and democracy in Iraq? If this is true your statements seem to agree with this idea.
On better terms why don't you not answer a question with a question or spin this out of control. You made a statement that didn't seem right IMHO and I'm asking you to clarify. Well for starters Iraq was missing a basic infrastructure due to sanctions placed on them by the U.N. and america. These sanctions killed more people than Saddams regime and actually placed more power in his hands. As a result of these sanctions hundreds of thousands of people died (most women and children) due to lack/denial of proper medical, lack of humanitarian aide and water borne disease.
1. Is a democracy a necessity in Iraq? You may think it's a great idea and it may look good on paper but the Iraqi's (along with several other mid east countries) have a different culture and idealogy that is often compromised because of the quest for "democracy".
2. Who placed the dictator in power?

IMHO americas war is not justified nor is it in accordance to laws mandated by the U.N.

It has EVERYTHING to do with what you were talking about. To be honest I gave you too much credit here. I thought you would be able to grasp the analogy and apply it to a grand scale. Your looking at war from a textbook standpoint but you fail to see americas "war" is no different. Americas invasion is just like a man invading your home is illegal. America looting, plundering, destroying buildings, violating iraqi culture, decimating artifacts and bidding for billion dollar contracts is no different from the man who flips over your tables, flips up your matress, knocks over your drawers and plunders your home for his monetary gain. America placing sanctions on iraq, bombing iraq, killing innocent children, women, handicap, elderly and mistreating p.o.w's bears a strong resemblance to the man who seeks to rape your wife and kids while you watch in horror.
Can you see the larger picture now? Lets get the textbook definition of war:

You argue that these concepts/principles do not apply to a home invasion when your families life and your life are not at stake? O.K.
Besides numbers and weapons what's the difference between america invading a country based on greed and someone invading your home based on greed? Both situations place the occupant in a hostile environment and both have the potential to lead to death. They both use fear/intimidation and violence but, america also uses economic sanctions and uses its techniques to a higher degree.

I disagree. Yes the power of love is better than the love of power but sometimes you have to fight. Sometimes you must defend yourself in order to survive and maintain YOUR peace. If a man were to come into your home with the intent to loot and plunder would you attempt to remove him with force or lay down and allow him to rape your wife and children in front of you? War and peace have a common ground. What is it? Desire. Desire of/for what? The desire to LIVE. The desire to live life as one should or how they BELIEVE they should.
