Some days I wake up, listen to cds on the way to work, get too busy there to get online or read the paper, go to the gym, drive home, make dinner, go to bed.

It will totally slip my mind we have troops fighting a war in another country.

Even days (mostly on weekends for example) at a time. I was at my friends wedding for 3 days straight. Not until i got the complimentary paper on sunday did i remember theres a war going on.

How many times do you forget as well? Has anyone gone 5 days without remembering? Unless youve lost someone there or have family or friends there i think there is a good chance.

I have friends in the military, but none of them are stationed in Iraq. I remember when it started I was dating a guy who's brother was a sharpshooter in Iraq in the marines...at least I think that's right?...Then I thought about it all the time. After that, in the last year, weeks would go by and I didn't think about the war at all. However, lately I've met some new people who think a revolution is necessary, so I'm thinking about it a lot more...

Ill def go through days that i dont think about it, i try not to harbor that shit in my head cause all i get is agrivated, thinkin about the whole situation and how its goin down, as for troops,i dunno if im gettin calous as the years go by, but before you know it used to be imparitive to show the upmost respect for troops going out and fighting for us, now when i see the people i grew up with going into the army, its people that are lost and want something to do. not trying to bag on any of you with relatives in the military because this is only what i know.Almost every person that i know that has joined up hasnt really been motivated like i think he should be to enter war, fight for the liberty for others, i think thats another big one, half the dudes think were over there tryin to gain iraq(which is kinda what were doin)when were tryin to spread peace and democracy in the dirty mid east. No peace has ever been achieved with war. Do something productive for YOUR life ,not the Machines

?!?!?!?! Huh????? Trying to spread peace and democracy in the dirty mid east? Why do you call the mid east dirty? How is america spreading peace and democracy in the mid east? Please explain your statement.

No peace has ever been achieved with war.
I disagree. Yes the power of love is better than the love of power but sometimes you have to fight. Sometimes you must defend yourself in order to survive and maintain YOUR peace. If a man were to come into your home with the intent to loot and plunder would you attempt to remove him with force or lay down and allow him to rape your wife and children in front of you? War and peace have a common ground. What is it? Desire. Desire of/for what? The desire to LIVE. The desire to live life as one should or how they BELIEVE they should.

honestly i've gone weeks without remembering we're at war. i dont watch tv or read the paper or anything, the only time it comes to mind is hearing someone talk about something that just recently happened. i think the main reason i dont think about it is because basically this country is fighting over some bullshit, the troops aren't fighting to "liberate the iraqi people" or "terrorism".. it's just a long, drawn out war over nothing really.

"?!?!?!?! Huh????? Trying to spread peace and democracy in the dirty mid east? Why do you call the mid east dirty? How is america spreading peace and democracy in the mid east? Please explain your statement."

well shit, with all the lies and bullshit fed to us by the media thats exactly what they want us to think, on better terms why dont you explain what you think america is tryin to do over there, you may have a new outlook on it.What was Iraq missing before the troops came in democracy and peace. Now the dictator is down they can try to establish a democracy, fuck if i know its gonna work those fanatics got stone heads, and for peace i know thats a justification for any war situation we get into, but i dougt if you look at the statistics of iraqs killed since sadams been out and the stats of iraqs killed yearly when he was in, were probably wreakin as much havoc as he was in the recent years(im not talkin about the mass genocides that happened years ago)

"Sometimes you must defend yourself in order to survive and maintain YOUR peace. If a man were to come into your home with the intent to loot and plunder would you attempt to remove him with force or lay down and allow him to rape your wife and children in front of you?"

that has nothing to do with what i was talking about, if you would have relaxed and read my post i was refering to WAR, were did you come to the conclution that i was talkin about personal confrontation.WAR buddy, theres a big difference between a mass amount of people tryin to control a situation while using fear and violence, and a single person trying to protect the ones that mean most to him.Its a more personal decision then war based tactics.i can sense the anger in your post , seems like your tryin to prove something, so please enlightent me
