hmm I think all you who are gettin heated over this are just misunderstanding greg

being "educated" and being "intelligent" are not the same thing. being educated means you've been at an educational institution and put in work, and lets face it in modern society everyone needs proof. what better proof can you offer than a degree?

and yea I know lots of intelligent people who dont have degrees. for example my mother didnt go to college, but she's got more wisdom than most people I know, shit that you cant learn in school. but she's uneducated about a lot of other things.

and besides being a measure of your level of education, I think having a degree represents something even more important which is perseverance. sometimes I've had the attitude like fuck school, i could be doing better shit with my time, but so far I've stuck with it and I give props to everyone else who has as well.

oh and whats good greg, shits been all good with me. i just moved so i been kinda busy gettin used to my surroundins but everythin is good
peace

A degree doesn't say you're intelligent, a degree says you can open books, read them, learn what's in them, and use it for assignments and tests. I've been to college on and off for the past 4 years, and I honestly don't see myself finishing in the near future. I have yet to find a professor who is intelligent, who knows how to teach, and who didn't bullshit their own way through college. I had an English professor who couldn't spell, an interpersonal communications teacher who couldn't stop talkin' about how proud she was to be African-American (if that was relevant to the class, I would have stayed, but this was not Cultural Studies it was Interpersonal Communication). My humanities teacher was a fuckin stoned, old ass hippie bitch. History Professors were all cool as fuck, those are the classes I got credit for. I took a retarded ass intro to computers course (Macintosh) just to jump up with an extra credit. The professor for that class gave me a no-pass, even though I was there every single day, and I passed every stupid assignment they gave us (I've been using Apple Computers since the Apple II came out).

So, my college GPA is fucked off pretty much, I can't get into a 4 year because of that. This is all because, I refuse to learn from somebody who is a fuckin' idiot. If shit doesn't pertain to a class, don't talk about it, I don't go to college to bullshit with the teachers about their heritage or any other shit.

And yea, like Sweets said, I know some dumb muthafuckaz that have Masters Degrees, or any other degrees. Shit, I deal with about 40 of them every single day at work. Matter of fact, the doctors at my work, with PhD's, are some of the dumbest fucks I've ever met in my life. They know the books, but nothing else.

When I go back to school, I'm going to challenge the bullshit classes. Then, I'm going to move on and shoot for a degree in Journalism/Communications. We'll see what happens, I just don't want to "learn" from some cocksucker again. Most of these teachers and professors don't belong in a classroom.

lol, don't know what high school you went to, but my high school was a fuckin joke! Teachers didn't give a shit, half the students were fucked up off some type of drug and I basically slept through high school and still managed to pass some how.

I seriously didn't learn shit in high school besides how to roll a blunt, take acid, and how to sell narcotics for extra loot. The only thing benificial I suppose was the experience in socializing.
Oh,so you went to Chief Sealth??

damn, this thread went to education to how much money people make........i mean come on, theres exception to everything, and im sure there are some intelligent people who never went to college........but im just sayin, most middle-upper managment positiions of fairly big businesses are filled with people that have their degree. it sucks if your are really inteligent and dont get your foot in the door of a company cuz u cant get an interview without a degree...i mean, that sucks...so thats all im sayin.....and no, i dont "look down" at those without a degree........i just look up to people who "earned" their degree and are now working making a lot more money.....not to say your guaranteed a nice ass job when u graduate, but if u know anyone who knows anyone, youlll at least get an interview cuz of your degree.

a lot of millionaires or billionaires start with an idea. It has nothing to do with education, but more of the creative mind. If someone invents something that a lot of people will use = googlenaire.
education doesnt equal a paper (degree), his knowledge about computers/programming help make ms-dos, that in itself is an education he had. not eveyone can write machine code.

so his computer/programming knowledge was his education.
