"MrSniccrs, how do you feel about Sir Mix-A-Lot?"

Wow. Nice question. Mix is the face of the Northwess right now...shit, he has been since then. No one has filled his shoes or sat in his seat. His name is synonymous with the region, b. Real talk. You cannot say another name that will command the respect of nationwide niccas for out this way.

No diss to E-Dawg, 151, Coughnut and niccas of that caliber. But Mix is officially THAT NICCA here. Im not suckin the dude dick or nothin. Just my take...

Waz niggaz in the Northwest feelin the remake E-40 did of "My Posses On Broadway" called "Big Ballin' With My Homies"? I loved that song by 40 but 4 some reason or another a lot niggaz in Cali wasn't feelin it. I thought 40 did a hell of an impression of Sir Mix on that track. That waz a true classic IMO.

you gotta luv that track it was produced by Bosko (reppin Portland, Or.) so you gotta like that 40 still came with the NW on the remix and his flow came tight as far as mixing his style and the way Sir Mix A lot came on the original!

And as far as the topic of this thread.... im in that age range that was mentioned. (29) Mix was the shit in his time. definitely not a one hit wonder. and he put his folks on at the time but he has taken alot of criticism about not helping out the uprise of the NW more, but he is mos def a NW and hip hop true Pioneer who deserves his props.

just my 2cents

Shit I was bumpin Mix a lot since he was slaning demo tapes (7 Rainier) when I was 13-14 livin in Holly Park! One of his close friends went to Wing Luke with me and turned me onto him with Demo cassette's.

I always got the impression he was far more dedicated into his other Buisines' and took his music more as a hobby than hustle until Baby got back took off ... JMO.

I remember listening to Nasty Nes on KFOX every Sunday night back in the day waiting to hear square dance rap or anything from him LOL!

No question he deserved the respect and everything else he earned ... Never heard anyone speak bad about him.

He could have easilly moved to LA or NY to better promote himself during his rise but stayed reppin the PNW 24/7 ...
