^^^ What modules and keyboards do you have now?

:h:
- Triton Classic keyboard
- Korg N364 keyboard (had it for years and didn't really hook it up and start using it until a couple years ago)
- Mo Phatt
- Proteus 1000
- Vintage Keys Pro
- Extreme Lead 1
- Orbit 9090
- Roland MKS-50

I basically maxed out my 8 channel midi interface. But like I said.....I haven't been using them much anymore since I got all them VSTi's.

Whenever I got "the block", I would basically create a brand new drum kit from scratch. I'd go out and buy random old school soul CDs, anything Dr Dre, Timbaland, Babyface, or Teddy Riley produced at the time and rape the CDs for sounds. Once I got a kit together that I'm feelin, I'm back at. New sounds have a way of making you come up with new patterns and they make you do things you wouldn't normally do. But the shit sounds good cause the sounds are new. There's a weird bit of psychology involved.

About the old school soul CDs - The key word there is RANDOM. If I had heard of the group/band at the time I was buying the CDs, I didn't buy em. The more obscure the band was to me, the better.

HERESY - I'm thinkin about converting over to GS3 Orchestra. Pros & Cons?

@mr.peete thats the latest version and I haven't come across any bad reviews. I've had the other versions for years now but never used them on my *own* machine (I had 160). The layering, stacking and sound creation is tight.

pro's? TRUE unlimited polyphony. I need more than 64 voices or notes since I edit a lot of patches and layers. It's easy to have drop outs in a beat when multiple parts and notes are sounding off. Thats a big plus in my book. The way it streams is cool but your computer needs to be on par to be able to use it effectively. I suggest the most ram and the best performance type ram on the market. I can't suggest a paticular ram because I don't know your specs. Look at your mobo and processor specs FIRST. If you plan on creating a computer specifically for the program I suggest you hit the digi duc (do a google on digi duc) and build your pc to "allenstein" specs.

Cons? I don't know if it can open every file format on the market like mach 5 can do. If so it's something you should look into.

@D-SANE what midi interface do you have? I need something with at least 8 I/O (10 would be cool). Do you experience any drops with yours?
