I wanna thank yall KC folks for contributing to this post. Its not gonna be easy to seperate from the town, Oakland, but I am reassured that KC will be just as meaningfull, but in a chilly sort of way. As long as I can sport clothes that say Oakland, and knock somethin while posted at the stoplight without having to watch my rearview mirrors, I will be comfortable in the KC, Mo.

You should be straight wearin that Oakland shit. Alot of people do that cause there aight alot of KC shirts except for sports shit. As long as you dont goto a Chiefs game with that shit on hahaha.
But the streets like my man JL said just keep it real. Dont try to act like your hard and shit cause you will get smacked down.
As far as violence, just dont start shit. Nobody just comes upto you and starts talkin shit. You might be rollin down the street and someone throws there hands up... dont take that the wrong way there just tryin to sell ya some crack.

The trouble in KC finds you if your not street smart. I grew up on 4th street, off Van Brunt and Chelsea. Prosititution, drugs, gang banging, and theft at its worst off Independence Avenue. You can run Troost from the 4 Block, all the way down the other way to Bannister road, and still have issues. KCK has its hard spots as well. Olathe, northtown, Blue Springs, OP, those are suburbs, and pretty much DO NOT reflect the city. The suburbs that reflect the city is the burbs on the KC border line. Shit usually pops off at the club, at the park, westport, and other spots, when it gets hot for some reason is when I notice alot of dirt goin down.
Theres hella cooh cats around and when you out chillin or kickin it you'll come across a few. Some niggas still fightin over bitches, frontin for they homies, high/drunk and actin a fooh, just like any other city basically. Be yourself and stick to yourself and maybe few folx and you'll be str8.

I reflected on your post Pinche and couldn't help but think of Oakland and how I might put this KC thing into perspective. Now, in East Oakland, where I stay at, fools don't even try and start nothin. Anything that goes down is usually the result of someone or a group gettin out of pocket and they gets mopped. But when you ask folks from the East about it, they'll usual say, "It didn't even have to go down like that. They just invited it and got what they was askin for." Its not about not bein unfamiliar, just being out of pocket. But in West Oakland, fools will trip on anything just for the fun of it. Its kinda weak that fools wanna perpetuate the tensions of livin in impovershed areas.
But anyways I brought this up because I was wonderin if KC was like that in terms of attitudes in different sides. Can a muthafucka have a BBQ at the park in North KC and not in south KC, or vice versa, without heving to be prepared to scrape some foos that step up for some funk (Im talkin bout the city, not them suburbs)? KC aint the biggest place but it aint that small either, somebody here either knows you or knows somebody you know, and sometimes when they hit up the club or the park or some shit, the funk pops off. Man I hate to admit this story, but since you are on this subject I thought I better tell you this. In case these same nigga's try this shit again. I was at the one of the Casino's here in K.C. and my boy and I was a little faded so we decided to go the the parking lot to blow some doja. On our way we run in to some cat's that's about ready to go outside to so we start talkin and shit and before you know it they ask if we about to go smoke. We said hell ya yall wanna match a blunt. These dudes seemed cool as hell. I usually don't trust nobody but for some reason that night I felt like these cat's were cool and I could trust them. We were talkin bout all kinda cool shit. Music they listen to, smokin all that. So we get to there car and match and shit. Then dude was like yall wanna go to a party. We didn't have shit else going on so we was like is there some bitches bet were there. So we left the parking lot. Drove somewhere near Blue River Rd. off of Bannister. Then one of the dudes say's hey I gotta take a piss so stop somewhere. Well the area we stopped at was really wooded and shit. Dude get's out of the car to piss and my boy and I do the same. I get back in the car and I'm just sittin in the back seat behind the driver when all of the sudden dude kicks my in my face like 5 times as hard as he can. Pulls a knife on my boy sittin in the front passenger seat. The driver of the car say's "yall give up your shit or you will die". Well I lost all my money at the Casino that night and all I had was like $30.00. I gave the dude my shit and got the fuck outa that car. I started runnin up the road towards the car because my boy was still inside. Eventually we ran into eachother. He jumped out of the car while it was movin. Hella Crazy Night. So if you go to the casino watch out for shady niggas and most of all don't trust noone. I will never trust another person as long as I live. They did all that for $30.00 imagine if they woulda killed my ass. Man I wish that shit happened in my car. Cause I got heat for punk ass nigga's like that. I never forget a face so someday I will run into one of these punks and make them statistics. That's on the real.
