How come Thizz never lists their producers?

a couple things that maybe i can clear up:


when u r a well known label.. u get beats sent to u all day!! free beats from all kinds of cats who r trying to get out there.. its helping them by getting on a thizz project, its something they can add to their resume. these producers without a resume dont need to be charging a label like thizz!!!!!!!!!!!!!

publishishing: unless thizz signs something saying that they own all rights to the songs including publishing then the producer still gets his half of the song! another thing where some of u r confused: 95% of the songs on the thizz cds never hit the radio, tv, or anywhere.. their cd's sell well but coming from an indy label u wont be getting points off a cd! u dont need to start worrying about publishing until u land something on a major release, u r getting radio play, video play, or u get a song featured on a tv show, movie, or video game.

If a label (no matter how big / small), decides to use your beat or any material off you...yes they should break you off.


The whole point of the matter is: To make it big. If joe Shmoe down the street and I make a track and it just happens to take off (radio play etc etc) AND he didn't have his publishings...he's fucked.

Get your publishings Folkz reguardless...telling you not to worry about publishings is like saying take your chance on a bitch and fuck her without a condom.

Thats real talk....any artist of any kind weather big name or no name should get credit for what they did...you never no if thats the shit that blows your name to legendary status or gets the ball rollin...you dont want no one taking all the credit unless they was the ones who did everything themselves

I agree wit you somewhat Gemini cuz getting your publishing is important to a certain extent.....i seriously doubt Thizz is gonna go and make a million off your beat alone so like Done Deal Kenny said if it aint on a major release its probably not gonna be a big money generator in the royalties department.......

and how is makin a fast bucc fuccin up the game???? only one i could fucc is myself by doin that and thas MY decision....like i said im broke as hell right now....i rather dump off some beats and realease all rights on them to a label and make a few fast g's to pay off some rent and get a car or somethin or maybe more equipment to make more beats to make more money.......way i see it its better than gettin a shitty labor job for min wage and its sure as hell better than goin out and pullin a gun on someone and robbin them and riskin goin to prison for 10-20 years and not even gettin 5 g's out of it.....cuz right about now those are my only other options i got......so you tell me whats fuccin myself and whats helpin myself......

Some what of a valid point, BUT! what I mean by fucking up the Game is allowing others to make bread off you. Yes, you do fuck yourself...if I break you off 5g's for beats and turn around and make a million, how is that really helping you? I'll leave to do the bigger things and you'll sit & wait to make another 5g's off somebody else.

5g's with all due respect is not a lot of money these days. Don't get confused...yes, it's better than taking penatentary chances, but what's gonna happen when you don't sell a beat for a few months? Ask yourself that.

The point being Homie is get your hustle on, get your money, but don't be stupid about it.

Get that publishing and don't let anybody do you like so many artist have been done in this Game. They learned from those mistakes you seem to ignore...thinkin' it'll will never go that big. i agree with u.. u made some good points.. dont take what i said the wrong way... thats why i hate this shit.. i type it up hella quick and dont read wtf i wrote but here's my response:

i'm not saying u shouldn't SELL beats... if u can then do it but lemme tell u where i'm coming from: i could round up some in house producers with heat that can make quality shit that can make it on a san quinn album. remember, everyone is rapping and producing now!!! its not hard to find a new producer. obviously there's a difference between just blaze and some cat from frisco who's got a triton. but if i got two beats from two different producers and one is trying to charge us 1500 and the other is trying to get his name out there and publishing then why wouldnt i fuck with the free guy? i'm sure u aren't arguing that but thats our position a lot of the time.. it wasn't really like that this time around on the quinn album cuz we got some bigger beats but thats always an option.

as far as publishing goes... always take care of that cuz like u said, there's no telling what will happen with a song! but i just think people get confused and think just cuz they make it on a thizz album they'll be getting breaded out by bmi, ascap, or seasac.... thats not the case!

yeah mayne i aint tryin ta argue about it cuz you have your points like i have mines......anyways as long as you dont specifically sign over your rights to the label you can still get your part of the publishing right? jus for keepsake in case that song do blow up you can prove you made it and have ascap or whoever bacc you up in court.......whether your name was on the credits or not cuz you published the beat/song....but like Kenny said you aint gonna get no points off these independant labels sales even if your name is on the tracclisting......

now if my beat gets on the radio and the cat makes a million off me i would hope hed wanna come spend a lil more money wit me or that it would come bacc to me positively in some sort of way regardless......i beleive in karma and that you get what you give and take........and if i get fucced over and really wanna be mad about it then i know who im gonna rob when im dead broke and not sellin beats.......lol.....

And that's the way the Game should be played...now ya feeling me. It's not in my nature to fuck anybody over with some shit like that (just used it as an example), but truth of the matter is: Not everyone is the same...this Game is full of shady MoFo's that'll leave your ass out in the cold.

In my time in the Game I've seen MoFo's sell 2,000 cd's (LOL!!!! I know), and think they blowin' up and get a big head about it. They be talkin' a bit funny to me once they get one spin on the local radio station and a small interview. What's to say if they really blew up and made real noise?

I'm not gonna sit around for karma to get em' or rob them if they leave my fat ass out in the cold...

I handle mine from the gate and cut people off at the knees if they start acting funny over chump change.

NOBODY owned their publishing....not even the mac himself...now this might be too much game for all u muthafuckas swearin u know this or that but here you go real quick. I published the shit i did under www.ascap.com ( do a title search for thizzelle dance and boss tycoon. Now if you do a title search or artist search for mac dre you will see that only me and sean t was the smart enough people to know REGARDLESS of how much you fuck wit so and so and they your peoples..cover your own ass...i published my shit back in 03 or 04...thizz dance dropped when 02? that means all that time nobody published shit??? not even city hall?? but when i publish the shit under my name and my company..i go over to www.bmi.com and see that all the sudden thizz dance is now published over there..back to some real shit...how am I gettin paid?? its like this...the powers that be know that they fucked up..and on top off the lil bread they shootin me now..they know once this case FINALLY hits the court..its a big muthafuckin hyphy/thizzy wrap.(this site also being a main factor of recording and storing old threads like.."im in cali..just did shit wit mac dre dating back to 2002..physical video footage..so and and so forth) bottom line..HANDLE YOUR BUSINESS...BUSINESS AND FRIENDSHIPS DO NOT MIX..NIGGAS WILL FEED YOU HALF THE INFORMATION AND LEAVE YOU STUCK>>DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH...READ A BOOK..SHIT READ IT ONLINE INTEAD OF POSTIN DUMB SHIT ALL DAY...YOU WILL BENEFIT FROM IT IN THE LONG RUN...
