for 1, whether Pac is the greatest or not is ALL opinion....

but to answer your question, I guess for the same reason why NO NBA player will ever be considered greater than Jordan, no matter how tight he is...I DONT KNOW WHY, but when you find out let me know...this is MY OPINION though...

^^^but those guys never had a movement like Pac had.

im gonna make this as simple as possible. a lot of people base their opinions off of his big hits. "Changes" aside, if u take songs like "toss it up", "how do u want it", "california love", they sound good, and are good songs, but they didnt touch the other songs that had real meaning to them. pac put out stuff that just gave people a feeling and created a following unlike that of any other. the loss of Pac is the greatest loss that hip hop could have ever suffered.

Though I walk thru the valley of hell the shadow follows me
Wisdom hard to swallow tomorrow expect apologies
You probably panic, stranded in search of a better planet
Realism hard to understand, we stand slanted
and still stranded, merciless thieves stole the best of me
I pray to black Jesus to please take the rest of me
And still, the best of us build, and reach monetary gains
Some of us kill, but still, most of us can change
if we search deeper, god bless the hustler, curse the first sleeper
Enemies get beside me, flows go deeper inside
We we ride plots keep all my enemies blinded
Time will soon show, a thought can last for years
Outshinin them fakes smile plastic tears
like last year, ni**az stuck in the past, and it's clear
Just some busta a*s bastards allergic to cash this year
Makaveli for the Mob, M-O-B
Killin bustaz is my motherf**kin job, him or me
Lyrically fatally driven, ni**az reported missin
My competition dead or in prison, as the world turns...

so to this very day, who can write better than that. yall kill me talkin bout pac is overated. who can rap better than him to this very day? really? u gotta understand pac DIED 9 YEARS AGO. if u got foos talkin bout he's tha greatest till this day, then he mussa been tha best. think about it. bacc when dudes were writin kindergarden rhymes, he was rappin shit that folx STILL consider is tha greatest. how cum his lyrics are studied in colleges? jus answer tha question? big l's lyrics arent, biggies arent. thats all i'm respondin to this shit cuz u cant change noones minds anyways, but tha same foos that diss pac are dissin rap as an art. fold.

to me lyrically 2pac wasn't the tightest rapper but his concept is what made people think theres something about him with his music....theres a college thats studying about pac's words from his music because most of the time all pac ever talked about was struggles and how the world is fucked up really....2pac knew he could make people listen to him cuz he had the passion and heart and confidence with pure energy plus he had the looks and it fitted perfect with the poetry's he's written...

he had success because of deathrow and marketing, the same way 50 cent started selling millions after eminem, not because what he talked about or how he said anything,.........

Cuz he's a martyr...
He had the hits, the catchy songs, he had the attention, and he had meaning within his songs. Then he dies, deathrow hypes up the possibility he might be a live, all the controversy.. maaan, that's sum perfect storm type of shit. All those elements together are pretty impossible to recreate.

check it, death row needed him, not the other way around. And he was big before death row. And he was popular because of what he talked about...u dont think he got noticed for "brendas got a baby"? i meen shit,so basically ur saying tupac is eequal to 50 cent...total garbage. i havent seen anyone try to come with someon who could touch pac.

Hes seen as the best because he died IN HIS PRIME, and no one would disrespect PAC enough to try and TAKE HIS PLACE, people would rather let him have the throne as the best rapper that lived because hes dead. Mac Dre didn't do much in the way of being revolutionary, he was funny, clever, original and made good music but look at how he blew up after he died...
